  1. welcome to hexos At this time the only other thing to keep in mind is that you should NOT update the underlying truenas operating system. Some functions might work and others might not however the HexOS team regards that as an unsupported use case. As far as i know there have not been any reports of docker apps breaking hexos so you should be good.
  2. Support will likely come no earlier than q3. Here is a link to the most up to date roadmap https://hexos.com/blog/hexos-q1-status-update Theoretically you MIGHT be able to migrate to hexos using work arounds but i can't guarantee it'll work. Personally i would still recommend waiting unless there is a reason you need to stop using unraid sooner.
  3. @mill3000 can you take a look into this
  4. app updates are fine however os updates will be done via hexos itself
  5. just to double check you aren't using the password for the hexos website but rather the one from the installer right?
  6. at this time plex and immich are still the only 2 apps with one click installs. The team is working on making it so the community and create one click installs for apps so once that comes out i imagine the amount of one click apps will skyrocket. as for apps that can be manually installed i would just google for list of docker apps. (there are a lot)
  7. I imagine a lot of members here would appreciate the guide.

I can ask the team whenever the next time I have a meeting with them if i remember but i don't meet with them often and it might not have been discussed yet.
  9. This is by far the easiest solution The other methods at this time are far more of a hassle.
  10. I do believe a subscription model will eventually available after Hexos leaves beta. but like the others say there is a 30 day no questions asked refund policy. Also i highly recommend before buying parts to build your nas, you either ask for help to build a parts list or post your parts list for someone here to double check. There are a lot of little things to consider that are usually non-factors in pc building
  11. Not pretending to be an expert but i hear zfs is amazing and in that xda article there is a link to an article detailing why zfs is great. It might be worth googling btrfs vs zfs. I know it was a quite talked about topic before unraid added zfs support.
  12. Glad i could help You can find new 6tb exos drives on ebay for under $100 from sellers with lots of reviews (i would still check farm data to make sure it is actually new) Cpu and ram are where i would not hesitate to buy used. If you search for ram on ebay just make sure you don't purchase ecc or server ram for this build as it is not compatible. Craigslist and facebook marketplace are also decent places to look for deals on used gear
  13. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BrkRyW this is my alternative sub $1000 build for you 11600 is a stronger cpu and gpu motherboard only has 1 gb ethernet but its good enough for a hdd build mobo also has 6 sata ports so you won't really need an hba until you go above that cheaper boot ssd bc you really don't need to spend much on it switched to less expensive exos drives. i don't know what they cost so little but in general they are better than ironwolf drives. added more ram since hexos likes ram switched to a dedicated nas case with a power supply that fits. we can do a lot better if you are okay with some used parts too
  14. It has a realtek nic on the motherboard which are problematic and might not work i would highly recommend picking a motherboard without a realtek nic if you don't plan on adding say a 10gig pcie nic.
  15. I believe the machines don't have enough RAM. A quick Google search tells me the ram isn't user upgradable because it is soldered on to the motherboard
  16. Yes now you have a CPU with a GPU In general if there is a "f" prefix on a CPU it doesn't have a gpu.
  17. the build in this link doesn't have a gpu in it.
  18. The big thing is that once HexOS is ready it will just simplify the use of the underlying Truenas. The goal is that one won't have to understand how to setup permissions and what not. I purposely haven't bothered to learn how to use Truenas so maybe someone with more experience with truenas can better fill you in.
  19. not all external drive enclosures are compatible with hexos either. Hexos requires the drives to have their serial numbers reported but many enclosures cheap out on that and just report a generic serial number that is the same for all drives which will cause problems detecting all drives. I'm not aware of which enclosures report all the proper data.

Try reaching out to support using the contact us link at the bottom of this website. I can't make any promises tho.
  21. I believe that's an Intel Mac so it should be possible to install alternative operating systems like hexos. However running hexos on external drives can be problematic and generally not recommended
  22. is nextcloud links able to work without a local connection or a reverse proxy?
