  1. I've always thought this might be fun and every top tier engineer I've worked with was a HAM radio enthusiast.
  2. If you guys are serious, ping Jon and ask for his thoughts on opening up a BST space. The mod controls are fairly easy but I can tell you there is a finite amount of time I'd spend as a mod shutting down spammers. We're still early so it could probably work if Jon approved.
  3. Hi @Thedoh - Take a look a Jon's previous comment HERE. Thanks!
  4. @Suljaman - This is fantastic feedback, thank you! We have very similar build, although you went HAM on storage, I only got 4x8TB platters. Which specific CPU do you have? There has been some discussion about whether the N100 (what I have) can perform transcoding well, especially subtitles.

@MaLiXs - Unless you are familiar with Docker and Linux administration, I agree that it's probably best to wait for official support. Do keep learning and exploring just be mindful, especially if this is relatively new to you and even more so if you have data you value and is not backed up, that what @Maxiboy44 is not officially supported. Remember, we're still in beta and that should give pause unless you're willing to loose data.
  7. @DomSmith - I like the DIY approach and you seem to have the chops to hack your way through this, but be mindful of the minimum HW and drive requirements - like 8GB RAM and no USB support. Not trying to discourage your efforts, only hope to help keep things in perspective as that is quite a unique build!
  8. Welcome aboard! I think if there is a single thing folks tend to forget, it is the context that HexOS, and joining when we did, was an investment in a technology that would grow over time. I too will continue to go further as I get older. Have fun and best of luck!

    FINALLY!

This is my pre-show & tell post as I have been waiting so very patiently for my new gear to arrive. I have everything but the chassis. Sitting here with 5 new drives, new RAM...everything. All ready to go with no home. Excited!
  10. @DomSmith - Specs, please!
  11. Hi @DanTheDroneMan - Take a look HERE. Beta is now open to everyone...not sure what happened but let me know if something has gone sideways, here. Might be helpful to connect with "support@hexos.com" - keep me posted!

That's fair. I have zero experience with tailscale but plenty with Linux. The good news is this forum (and others) have TONS of experience that can help walk you through stuff like this. Not trying to convince you to take on something you're not familiar with, only if you think you might like to grow your experience a bit there are good resources available.
  13. @StuckinLimbo - Sorry to hear you've been having difficulties. I suggest taking your post and copying that in an email to "support@hexos.com". Leaving your post here for others to see that the first best step is to contact support. Best of luck!

    @Terredar & @PizzaNinja - What about tailscale?
  15. I've not seen anything yet but will keep my eye peeled.
  16. Hi @Ready printer 1 - If I am understanding your question, you would need a 3rd storage location (temporary). That is, if you intend to use the disks in your current system in your new system. When you install HexOX, the drives will be (re)formatted and thus wiping any/all data. Depending on how much data you have and size of disks, there may be options but, let us know and Good luck!
  17. @Nside - Dude, I've been a hardware guy for decades and I've NEVER seen something like that. A top loading drive slot for....whatever I want? I'd pay good money for something like that today. Admittedly, my HW experience is production gear, but that is still one cool feature I wish was still around. I dig it!
  18. @Sonic - If you're familiar with the command line, could the use of Rsync help? If not, have you looked at Grsync?
  19. @some_kid6 Man, I don't know what that counts as...never seen anything like it before. But if it does what you need it to do, then keep it going!
  20. THIS!! You clearly understand the assignment. It is far better to spend time learning on older hardware, giving yourself the opportunity to learn what you want. I also really appreciate that you've shared what you've learned - please keep it up!
  21. Try now by liking this reply; it's been 24 hours. Tag me in a reply if it is still not working, please.
  22. Hi @siebertvw You should not have a problem using >2TB drives. However, to be certain you should check with your hardware vendor (Acer). Good luck and let us know what the results are!
  23. Hi @wim The Hardware & Storage requirements show you're configuration is supported (assuming you have a 3rd drive for the OS). Not to be funny, but have you tried rebooting and/or shutting down and reseating the drives? Any other details or steps you've taken? Good luck!
  24. Hi @NAS If I understand your question correctly, ECC RAM events are usually logged as EDAC events. A quick read on where these are stored can be found HERE. Good luck!
  25. Hi @ViPeR9503 and @DanTheDroneMan - Two storage disks are required. Please take a look at THIS POST about minimum storage requirements.
