Picked THIS up for my primary streaming/storage device about four months ago. I've been super pleased with its performance so I went ahead and bought a second SIMILAR unit primarily for backups and potentially other edge/IOT (read home surveillance) usage. The difference being the primary uses an Intel N100 and, near as I an tell, is a little better supported when it comes to transcoding and streaming. The backup is slightly more equipped with CPU and RAM. Primary has 4x8TB raidz1 and the backup unit (eventually) will have 4x18TB in a raidz2. The only issue I see is if I use the back up unit for home surveillance, the high read/write IO could impact overall disk life. Am I wrong here? Tagging @Sonic as I would like to hear your experience on the AMD version of the Aoostar, so far. Thanks!

Yeah Jonp and the rest of the crew have been working like crazy to get things rolling to have a more solid date for us, Just keep in mind we are in Q1 so a lot can happen in the remaining quarters left.

There should not be a time limit for activating a license. Many of us here have bought a first or second license intending to activate it a lot later (myself included) Activating a license is pretty easy, once you install HexOS and turn on your machine, on a different device (on the same network) you go to Deck.Hexos.com and you can claim your server which will automatically activate it. Yes you can play with HexOS in a vm and there are a few users that run a HexOS vm in proxmox. You can always remove your Hexos license from your vm and move it to a different machine if you desire. Thank you so much @Tamaluko!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also was able to get my igpu (i5-13400) working in plex for transcoding after following your instructions. The only thing I didn't follow was the new user step, so thank you as well @Master-spud for reporting 568 still worked. Was really starting to feel like I was running in circles before I found this thread.

Hey folks. Just want to share the the HexOS team is aware of the IntelARC GPU passthrough issue and has a test system being used to try and ID and diag/resolve the issue. Thank you for your patience.
