  1. On Windows that's robocopy. Maybe takes a bit to set all the appropriate arguments, but once you do, it's really the ideal tool for large transfers.

  2. I'm not sure that you can easily install anything on a Synology NAS, they are pretty locked down and would require a lot of tinkering to even install Hexos. So I would not go down that route. Also make sure that you get something with a video output, or else installation and management in case you locked yourself out will be a nightmare. Also it is not possible to use the boot drive in a Pool, meaning if you have a 3 storage bays, 1 drive will be used as a boot driving, leaving you with only 2 drives left. Take this into consideration, that you also need space for a dedicated boot drive.

  4. fixed the problem @HomeHosted was right i had to wipe the drives in Truenas. to login in Truenas you have to use the default username "truenas_admin" that i did not now. it would be a great idea to put a wipe function in hexos when you create a pool in the storage tab. thanks for the support.

  5. @Dylan So went on a road trip, forgot about the transfer, it got hung up. So I am now letting it start again lol Also picked up a case from a friend that built his Nas 15 years ago and has now swapped to a Rackmount and Jbod so now I have a proper case and will most likely be redoing all my hardware once i get home. Damn this hobby

  6. Yup! We went through great pains to make our UI mobile responsive, and this will make porting it to mobile apps easier in the future. For now, navigating to the deck from mobile is already a pretty pleasant experience.

  7. Would love something like a "portainer" app to easily install portainer and docker with containers volumes being stored on the NAS. Honorable mentions: - nextcloud - nginx proxy manager - zabbix - sonarr / radarr / the other "arr" softwares - mqtt relay - uptime kuma - paperless-ngx - actually Im gonna make another post for that one.... that's a big one most people should have imho.
