  1. @lostboykev Did you configure the raidz2 pool via TrueNAS?

Use RSync to ensure that if your copies fail you can re-initiate where they failed and not have to start from scratch.
  3. I've been pleased with THIS DEVICE so far, though I did upgrade the RAM to 32GB and I'd wager 2-3 4K transocdes would bog the system down. That vendor also sells a version with a higher spec'd AMD CPU.
  4. Super cool of you to put that out there - thank you. Always good to know where the skills are. Music is the one area (as opposed to film/TV) that Ive not really attempted to split off from the cloud. I will...one day.
  5. Yeah, I try and use a little equipment as I can. I've seen how deep the home lab rabbit hole goes. It ain't pretty and I can't afford it. 😜
  6. Somehow I knew you were a big 'ol boy 😆 -- all that server hardware just laying about!!!
  7. Man, I've spent all day in my attic with a contractor trying to figure out how to update the 30 year old cabling that is my house. Why? Because I have a new NAS, new mesh router system and a fun new OS. And feeling a little remiss that I've not been able to get online much recently. This thread? This thread had me feeling like Thank you @jonp @Theo @Mobius @Mawson @ubergeek and all HexHeads for your time, patience and contributions. This is going to be a helluva ride!!! 😛
  8. Hi @IdMah - If it were me, I'd run with what you got for now, especially as HexOS is still in beta. This will give you time to time to get familiar with a new OS and the things you'll want to do with it. This also gives time for HexOS to continue to develop as well as you time to save for what you REALLY WANT NEXT. Essentially, don't spend your money until you've had a chance to kick the tires to better identify what you want from your new sytem. Good luck and ave fun!
  9. I think I get what the ask is here. If I do frequent (un)installation of apps, then tracking "what IP did I assign" or any other fields that a wizard might prompt for, if they are pre-populated with my prior entries then there is less chance for me inputting different data. @FangerZero - I actually think this is a good idea as it would reduce app re-installation errors. I'd bubble this request back up once we see get a little further down the line.
  10. I really like this approach. It may not catch everything but it will enable a large portion of users that would only grow over time.
  11. How are you liking the Aoostar? I just picked mine up to run HexOS on and so far am very pleased with it?
  12. Hey @Archion - Whatever makes the dream work!!! I dig it.
  13. Tagging @ubergeek as I *think* he might be a Dell guy. (apologies if he's not and that is unhelpful 🤓)
  14. Would restating your question like "can installation wizards pre-populate fields with cached input data such that if re-run, the user would only need to change specific fields and not all required fields?" Is that what you're asking?
  15. Always on with moderate load usage?
  16. What / How are you using Proxmox? Just curious how other folks are using this tool. Thanks!
  17. Yeah, the price per port/speed is a HUGE differential. The goal, once both nodes are wired, not only will backhauling become way more efficient but I'll likely take the 2nd 2.5G port of the 2nd node and split that off to a small switch. From there attach whatever I want, keeping the primary router/node in my bedroom. You can see 4 of 8 antenna from the top of the chassis...not too shabby to look at....and you can turn the light off.
  18. Finally upgraded from the Netgear Nighthawk R8000 to the ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12. This has enabled me to remove the 1G bottleneck of the netgear router using a 2.5G uplink. Initial Linux ISO downloads have nearly doubled in speed. Disclaimer that TONS of variables are at play...HOWEVER; The new router setup is a dual node AI-Mesh so not only have I more than doubled hardware throughput I also nearly doubled wifi coverage via wireless backhauling - soon to be wired where I will post those results. 6GHz not at play yet for wireless, also part of the pending upgrade(s). So...progress...incremental and with intentional purchases...good progress.
  19. Oh my damn! Is that thing fully populated with 3.5 drives? And if it is, what is your monthly 'lectric bill...lol
  20. Oh I noticed. No creeper or anything but I have the SAME leather chair. Mine is just in the living room where I just realized is the wrong room for it to be in! 😆
  21. I just found this post from @ubergeek and you beat me to it! I wish I had the space to work on ish like that!
  22. I like it! Tagging @Mawson & @jonp fr visibility. Thanks @WhyCheese!!
  23. I've done a ton. Moving from simple DLNA shares to Plex, setup tailscale for remote access (which was incredibly easy) and I haven't even started on Immich yet.
  24. I support this as well. I will eventually have 2.2.5Gb LACP NICs and I would like to see both aggregate and individual throughput.
