  1. I'll just answer myself. It is. I had previosly updated TrueNas to Fangtooth which is not supported and I messed up the boot pool so I wanted to reinstall but was worried about it (I was thinking on just dropping HexOS and use TrueNas directly with the latest version). I was able to reinstall everything following these steps (I had a recent copy of the truenas config): Follow steps 1 to 6 Update TrueNas from the UI to Fangtooth Reimport TrueNas config profit This was easier than I though and I didn't lose any data.

  2. Hi Jonathan, I'm excited to follow your journey with HexOS! It's great to see you're already exploring integrations like Immich and Plex. One key piece I think would really strengthen the platform—especially for home and SOHO users—is Nextcloud. TrueNAS has always lacked an easy, built-in way to sync and manage files via a web UI and mobile apps. Nextcloud could fill that gap perfectly. It's also one of the main reasons I believe Synology continues to thrive in the SOHO space—the simplicity and reliability of file syncing just works. I'm really looking forward to seeing this kind of core functionality become part of HexOS. Keep up the great work—looking forward to your next update!

  3. We are working on increased app support this quarter. The plan is to build an app templating system that will allow us to more rapidly publish our curations and allow for the community to participate as well. I will be publishing another blog post soon to talk about this and our other priorities for Q3.

  4. Thank you all for the responses on this. We had a lot of fun going through them, and we will incorporate the feedback in the next UI pass.
