  1. I assume you mean 8tb drives? You can probably use smb to copy all your files into the new pool, delete immich and Plex and immich and then reinstall them to the new pool Can't say if this is most optional method but it is what i would probably do in your situation

    One drive pool

Closest though to this is the ltt video where Linus said beta 2 was monthS away
  3. you have to go into truenas ui for manual configuration but not all pools will play nice with hexos even after being created in truenas.

    One drive pool

@jonp is aware of our frustration and single drive pools will be implemented in a future update
  5. New tutorial about time machine setup here
  6. I completely agree, i want my apps to be on a single ssd with a large hdd pool for my data i don't wanna lose
  7. you are very welcome, glad to help anyway i can
  8. i like the gigabyte board better because of the usb 3.2 gen 2 port, the extra full size pcie slot and the 2 extra ram slots since more ram is always appreciated in a server. That said it uses a realtek nic which more than likely will not work without some tinkering for the foreseeable future. I have a mobo with what i suspect is the same realtek nic (wasn't able to find the model number of the aorus board nic), I cannot use it at all and resorted to using a usb adapter i had on hand instead. If you can splurge on your 10gb ethernet sooner than later def go for the gigabyte
  9. It would also be nice if we could up/down vote all posts and not just q&a
  10. Can this be done with any vpn? I already pay for proton vpn so it would be great if i could just use that
  11. you are welcome. I just want to clarify that many brands can be powered by realtek and you sometimes need to look deeper into the product listing. Another user had issues with a 2.5gb ugreen usb to ethernet dongle because it was powered by realtek
  12. you could probably use something like this with a usb to molex adapter and pcie/m.2 to sata adapter I have no idea if this is the best product of the sort but it would like work much better than a usb enclosure
  13. there are m.2 to sata adapters if you have free m.2 slots. Keep in mind you would still need free sata power ports as well
  14. i know that i can do that, i just want to make a sub user than can only access one of the 2 servers
  15. any chance you guys plan to implement a sub account? i bought 2 licenses planning to leave a 2nd server with family. It would be nice if when i login to deck i see both servers and if they ever wanna log in they can only see the one server. i feel like no one that cares about their data would even consider buying a sub account on the black market.
  16. I would skip the gpu unless you have any workloads that need a gpu or if you think the igpu is adequate for handbrake. Gpu is gonna be adding a non negligible amount of power consumption. On a 24/7 idle 6700xt at my admittedly high electricity rates it would cost me north of $40 a year
  17. i mean the bigger problem would likely being any future troubleshooting. We won't be able to tell if any bugs will be caused by it especially since hexos beta is pretty finicky with what it wants and going around that via truenas causes mild to severe bugs
  18. Yeah seems like for anyone with multi drive usb enclosures only one drive gets shown. That said in general usb drives are not recommended
  19. just make sure it is not realtek since they have a bad reputation with support for certain realtek nics being straight up disabled in truenas for causing issues
  20. You can try making a z2 pool in truenas ui but it is possible things like one click apps will break if you do like it does for mixed size pools
  21. you are welcome. if you want so save some money you can even go with like a used 8500t and compatible mobo from ebay which would be ~$100
  22. seems like it is powered by a realtek rtl8156. There is a driver issue with that realtek ethernet adapter and iscusi so the truenas team optted to disable support for it. You can turn it back on via tunables (i have no idea how), someone else mentioned that installing the new updated drivers via command line might fix it too (but i also dunno how to do that)
  23. yeah your 12600 is more than good enough for plex/jellyfin along with the rest of the thigns you mentioned and you don't need a Dgpu for those tasks as the Igpu in the 12600 is plenty adequate

had no idea it had addons let alone so many of them
  25. this alone will make the hexos worth it over truenas for me, with all the other QoL stuff being the cherry on top.
