Ok, so I mean this sincerely and honestly, no joking this time.  I thought you (well, maybe not you specifically) had said Local dashboard/command deck vs hosted and Buddy Backup where the line to declaring we had reached 1.0?  I don't really care about either specifically but the admins were very vocal about keeping backups during the beta and cot calling HexOS production ready.  So to be clear, you are ready to start taking questions/concerns/observations (if any) from the standpoint of this being a production product?  I don't think that came from the Linus videos but I may be wrong.

I'm happy we have met some of the need cases out there. There are more items we will be hitting shortly with Buddy Backups and then VMs as major items, along with more things in the UI to slowly require less TrueNAS UI. For me, I'll say the happy state will be after Buddy Backups and VMs. Also with the updates, TrueNAS should be pushing our fix on our Baba Yaga (websocat service issue) hopefully fixed in 25.10.7.  We'll have the basics covered, and we can focus on addressing the need for the TrueNAS web UI. We can also then continue to build on all existing features, adding more depth to them.

Buddy backups and VMs are on the list, yes. But what I think really should make HexOS complete is the arrival of AnyRAID. I'm pretty sure "converting" (read: back up to another NAS, wipe HexOS storage pools, copy back from said other NAS) to AnyRAID is going to be a huge task. Because of that, I haven't fully committed to HexOS yet. I thought TruNAS 26 (and its HexOS counterpart) was gonna bring AnyRAID, but I read a blogpost or something saying that this year's AnyRAID is focused on/limited to mirrors, and that it'll be late 2027 where the real AnyRAID arrives. Until then, holding onto my near EOL Synology box as my main NAS.
