copy data from external (USB) drive

Hi all,

I setup my nas and would like to copy my data from my external harddrives to it.

The drives are being detected but as far as I found I can only set a new pool which would wipe the drive.

Ideally I would prefer not to use my laptop to connect the harddrive and copy it over the network

Short answer: no

You'll need to resort to using SMB, NFS, or Rsync over the network to copy from the USB drive to your TrueNAS ZFS pool.
