  1. How easy is it to access / download docker apps that aren’t one click? do we have to find the repo link manually or is there a search functionality at this stage (appreciate early days for this)
  2. I’d also posted about this on another thread, the colour value needs to be fixed site wide in dark mode.
  3. If you know you want this, highly suggest buying now at the reduced price! nothing worse than eating and having to pay more. likewise if a little hesitant, you’d have until the end of the year essentially to see how people enjoy this through the beta and can still decide to buy @ the $200 price tag. as someone who’s been waiting for this since June/July, it was a no brainier!
  4. Same, a fairly capable tech nerd, who’s also a product designer, so eager to look at the UX/UI and also share and thoughts and improvements on that from too, especially as new features get launched. This software should be optimised and built from this community, we all want it to succeed!
  5. Exactly, but let’s say someone’s setting up a media server and the content isn’t critical (downloadable) then they’d want maximum capacity, which could be annoying if forced into mirror or raid 5. so one would hope if it is a limitation, is a beta thing, not permanent.
  6. My interpretation of the FAQ’s was almost saying it could potentially be locked down for people trying to create a pool with let’s say a single drive. now yes you could easily do that in the TNS Ui, but what we don’t know is how that gets translated when setting up hex as a fresh install, and what issues it might cause (if any)
  7. Same! But comment for Jon and the Hex folks. If you want beta testers, let us know how you want us to sign up. Assuming there won’t already be an opt in setting in the management UI
  8. Definitely, I can see pros and cons to both. A wider pool of beta users would aid getting more data. But agree, could open up more issues for people complaining or not knowing what they’re doing… plus, most of us would wait for snapshots being released and having our remote backups set up anyway before we full commit to beta testing (beyond this beta haha)
  9. Yes that’s all understood, hence the questions really Will the Hex UI allow us to do what ever mention but maybe warn users, or block them completely?
  10. One would assume they’d want / have people running the betas. And would assume this would line up with the TNS releases too, as each of those integrations would need testing.
  11. Yeah exactly. We obviously don’t know how it will function until we get it. But my hope is that we can still have striped, and those requirements are just mirror vs expandable raids.
  12. It would be great to have an integration into home assistant to monitor our NAS + have automation abilities based on the data. is this something already in the works in-house? Or will we need to wait for a community integration?
  13. If you want a simple all in one motherboard + CPU + Cooler. You can get decent deals on AliExpress for Topton / CWWk boards. Wide range of chips, so will depend on your use case. I went with a CWWK i3-n305 + 16gb ram. More than enough juice for my home server needs with headroom for VMs etc.
  14. For my first home build setup i went with the Jonsbo N2 case, initially as wanted something small and minimal - though slightly regret this for 2 reasons. 1. populating 4/5 drive bays already, when 6-8 total would have left more room to expand in the future. (will definitely need to rebuild at some point) 2. The N2 is great. but the form factor requires SFX mobo's + power supplies, which can end up costing more than standard sizes + again issues with future proofing here. So if you're looking for a home build, and see all the Josnobo cases, take that into consideration, the N3 + N5 seem to be good cases given the size. And echo above comments on the NasCompares review of them + others.
  15. I have the same question. i've got 4 drives. 2 will be mirrored (Raid-1) so wouldn't need to expand. The other 2 i'd want to run stripped (Raid-0) but with the possibility to add another drive or two in the future. but not sure if the above statements are specifically about those creating redundant pools like Raid-5/6?
  16. Theo

    Paypal

Can't you just use a debit card? ironically my Amex got declined for fraud (UK > US purchase) so couldn't use a CC.
  17. Not sure if this is just me but the Sidebar & author panels aren't sticky when enabled. Not sure if a known issue, a new bug, or browser dependent?
  18. Loving dark mode, but just a heads up, the red text being used for certain tasks is super inaccessible and hard to read, even for 20/20 people. Would suggest lightening up it's values.
  19. Bought another licence anyway! 🤣
  20. Thanks, understood and appreciate that. Obviously happy to support you guys and buy another, but would have to wait until I get the first system up before I can set the other one up too. I’d say it would be great to have a discount for those who want/need to a second licence for the same situation in the future (or matching the early bird price) but appreciate that’s just a bias opinion haha. thanks for the reply.
  21. Maybe this question will be answered tomorrow with the download. But will the lifetime licence be limited / locked to only one hardware system. I.e if I want a remote back up I control, can the same licence be used, or would this constitute a ‘new’ lifetime licence?
