Main local Pihole DNS is running on a small dell micro PC running DietPi. I installed the binary files on it for the Zoraxy reverse proxy. It has some great features. Also lots of cool features. Its on GitHub. Here is the list of features. I am being self taught on this so anyone want to swap config etc. let me know. Also its written in GO. Any app. you have running on HexOS can be accessed if you setup access. Like a Reverse Proxy. Plus apps that have built in tunnels like Plex would work fine. I have the plex server running and I can see it on my phone from anywhere.

DDR-4 16.00 GB Dual Rank 2133 MHz x 8 but I had one pair my machine can take large sticks It can do a max of 3072.00 GB. I will never be able to afford that.

If I see any I will let you know.

So it took two weeks for what every reason. But i got such a great deal that I do not care 8 sticks of dual rank 16gb DDR4 ECC. I got it for 70 buck in the last 3 weeks there has been some good deals on eBay for both memory and used SAS drives. So happy!

I am most likely going to say this all wrong. But HexOS is a smart wrapper around TureNas Scale. To me its a menu drive script manger that setups TureNas with out you having to do it all. That said you can log directly into TureNas and do what ever you want. So I look at the listed apps in TureNas and there is one called Dockage (A fancy, easy-to-use and reactive self-hosted docker compose.yaml stack-oriented manager.) So if it has this is can use ymal files. BUT keep in mind for now because the Current Version of HexOS is beta and had only some of the hooks into TureNas you have to be careful what you do.

Video was great. In my town we have a store call Skycraft that sales stuff from all the Lockheed Martian and NASA, SpaceX just all kinds of stuff over the years I have gotten so much cool things from there. If I would have had that store back in the 70 and 80's I would have never had to go to Radio Shack. Just picked up a 4U computer case rack mount for 20 bucks going to rip everything out a turn it into a 36 bay JBOD for my r730xd. HexOS will rule them all HA!!!

Yes I have tried Vivaldi before but the Opencore has a issue with chromium based browers screen is just red or half red. I really do like the current beta version of Zen its is fast.
-
So I run several computers , 3 of them are older Apple computers a 2011 mac min, 2012 5,1 mac pro and a 2013 trashcan (6,1). running opencore. When running Sequoia you cant use a chrome based browser. That means you stuck with Safari or Firefox. I don't like all the bloat in both. Yesterday a found a new browser call Zen Browser and it really does rock. Good features and really lean. Check it out. Oh I also have my xserve 3,1 its running ESXI right now going to try and put proxmox on it.

I now have 3 Dell PowerEdge Machine I order actual flashed raid modules to IT mode off ebay. Everyone of my machine works with truenas, unraid and Proxmox also HexOS. If you search the message I listed a flashed external flashed sas controller card that i am ordering for my Dell r730XD. Thats the guy i use and he has lots of youtube videos on upgrades and stuff.

Normally i am in keep up mode between my software and my hardware. By that I mean i get software that is way to power full for what I am putting it on or it does not have enough ram or Hard Drive space and I am catching up. This time I bought a killer system I am taking the time to get the hardware up. If for what ever reason i have to reinstall that will not be an issue. My Unraid machine i have a docker program called Ripper running on it and I just have to insert a blue-ray and walkaway it rips the movie and ejects for the next. That is letting me build up my Plex system. I don't run Plex on any of my rack system that will include HexOS it's running on a HP micro Server at my TV.

Just found 128gb of ram on sale on eBay for 60 bucks. That is going in the r730XD. Can't wait.

I have a r530, r710 and a r730XXD plus 2 apple xserve a 1,1 and 3,1 they are not running right now. but not too bad on the heat.

So I was hosting it in docker on Unraid then then DietPI on raspberry pi. finally i wanted something that was setting on my default Vlan. So I ordered a Dell Optiplex Min PC for 50 buck with power supply and 8gb memory and 4 core 4 thread no HD on ebay. I installed Debian and then went to this address and followed the docs to install Unifi Server on it. It is plugged into my unifi router and has been up for 6 months. I am more then happy with that. Here is the link to the install instruction. NOTE if you run Proxmox you could also put this in a container. https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/220066768-Updating-and-Installing-Self-Hosted-UniFi-Network-Servers-Linux

There is docker program that will rip a DVD or Blue Ray then eject it when done Its called Ripper here is the GitHub site. https://github.com/rix1337/docker-ripper#readme What I did was buy a eSata plate and cable on Amazon install it in to my R530 and then get a external flashed Blue Ray Drive off eBay about 150 you might have one that works but I wanted a real Blue Ray reader as well so i order it. It might be on TureNas as a app but you can install it as a docker app to.

Some how one of my post went into a different topic. Strange

Sound systems and Audio of any type.

Cool i was in the Pipe-fitters Union for like 16 years, retired my book. Like i said above had to go back to HVAC to keep the wife happy HA! But my first passion was always sound and then controls. I work for TraneTechnologies that was the control side of Trane Corp. I moved from Arkansas to Florida in hops because of the music scene and the need for year round cooling HA!! Give a yell anytime. -
My system is a Dell PowerEdge r730XD it came with no drives. I upgraded the 2 CPU's to Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2670 v3 12 cores. These gives me 48 total cores. The memory is just 32gb for now I am going to upgrade it to 128 or 256 have not decided on that yet. I upgrade the Raid module to a mini300 flashed for IT mode and also add the rear 2 2.5 drive board in the back. I bought 20 900GB 10k SAS drives 4 were bad so I had 16 to work with. I installed HexOS in a mirror raid on the 2 rear 2.5 drives the are 800GB Dell SSD drives. I plan on filling all the 2.5 with 900GB SAS drives and the add a JBOD below it with 8 3.5 drives with more storage space. Right below it is my Dell r710 running Proxmox and a Dell r530 below that running UnRaid.

I love cameras and TV, I worked for my Church and helped them build a TV station. I designed the audio and because of some awards I won i got head hunted by CBS. Worked there for 2.5 years and Wife said I did not make enough money. Make a choice HA!! So went back to Control Systems for HVAC. Back then it was pneumatic (AIR) controls. 0 Pressure was full heat, 7.5 PS was Neutral 8 to 18 PSI was levels of cooling. 18 being 100%. Worked at that and its what I still do but know it's digital controls. Do work for Hospitals, Schools and I have done a lot of work for NASA. So you every check out or hear of partsexpress.com great place to pick up raw speakers and amp really cool stuff there. I just pick up some 4" transducers that you screw to the bottom of your couch or any chair. Add an amp and a crossover for base plug into your TV and you will feel the base hit when it does just like the a game joystick does. -
So the main thing i do with my home lab setup is audio backup of my Mix and Master library. Right now I have about 7TB of audio files of bands I have done in the last few years and also the master files of some of there albums. Some times maybe a year or to later they want to redo a older song and all i have to do is pull in the archive. No one makes a good database to store archives of recorded music for studio work. That's something I am waiting to play with just need to get my network where i can. I have a 16 ch digital board and a 32 ch rack mixer. Using the two together i can record live 32 ch of music with 16 monitor mix going to the stage for ear and stage mix. The really cool thing is I don't need a Snake from the board to the stage I use a special cat6 cable that carries all 32 ch of audio and 16 channels of monitor and the two main sends to the stage on that cat6 cable. Its call AVB networking and I have a special AVB router that i use to tie in other AVB equipment. AVB is old and Cisco signed an agreement to support the AVB protocol on there switches 14 years ago but have never really done it. So if you are into music. Live or recorded sound jump in I toured for 18 years and have worked for the USO and the Stars and Stripes in Iraq in 2005 to late 2007 so I have been around any help on speakers or just where to pick up stuff for cars or what ever give a yell.

I really like my Dell r530 that's running Unraid with 8 drives,. My Dell 730XD which is 26 drives 2.5 is running HexOS both machines are 24 core. It also HAS the Idrac Console connection for complete control when the system is offline, plus it has a full terminal mode.

That is an awesome idea but would be very time intensive. With all the different system out there. It would be a major undertaking but in the long run well worth it. I design and program automation control equipment. At this time we are fighting the older design and firmware equipment with the new designs and its such a pain getting it right where old and new work together. I don't envy you doing that at all.
