  1. Like the setup. I order a used r730XD off eBay for mine and some update CPU's to kick it up. Did you order a flashed raid card for yours or did it have IT mode. I also order a new mini 300 raid card that has been flashed for Unraid and TrueNas, Proxmox mode. Mine I think is like yours has 2.5" HD. Right now I have mine loaded on Proxmox with 4 virtual 500gb drives and its working great.
  2. I had so issue with it being a docker or on my windows machine that I put it on Diet Pi along with pi hole. I just installed in on Debian using the Linux install. Its been up now for 3 months with no issue. Going to keep it this way. I bought a Dell Optiplex 3040 for 40 bucks on Ebay. Using Pi hole its my Unfi Console, Print Server, reverse proxy and DNS for my home system.
  3. I ordered a flashed Dell HBA330 mini monolithic module to change out the H730 SAS/SATA module for one that will work in IT mode ZFS, TrueNas and Unraid. While I was chatting with him he told me about the Dell Slog ZFS NVME card is it worth putting in the server. I not going get it right now but in a few months I might add it.
  4. I have both a Dell r530 and a Dell r710 both have built in Dell Raid Controllers. I had to order flashed replacement controllers off eBay for both TureNas and Unraid would not see the drives until i did this is referred as IT mode. So Hardware raid will not work form everything I have read and seen.
  5. I have had that happen to me so main times that I now cheat. I download DietPi for x86 and put it on a Dell micro pc. After the install you can pick tons of apps to run and they update easy. I have been doing that now for about 3 years or more and. have never had an issue. You can also download it for raspberry pi. Also I actually have to small micro pc's that i have as nas1 and nas 2 in my house doing it this way.
  6. I know your busy but when will the T-shirts and Mugs be coming out.!!!!
  7. I got the change to pick up the above machine cheap and kind of want to play with the Opteron CPU, it has 128 GB ram . Since its a Opteron it does not have hyper-thread but it does have the hyper-link between the CPU's. Think it would be a fun build. I can get it real cheap.
  8. I look the chip up it will do Virtualization but i don't believe any VM would win a racing contests. Docker on the other had should work fine. I am running a older HP micro server which is also 4 cores and its my plex server and it runs fine. If nothing else you can use it to learn on till you get something more powerful. Then de authorize it on the web site and authorize then one.
  9. Are you going to setup a Official Discord site.
  10. So if we setup the server the way we want can we then drop into TrueNas export the config and load that Config into another actual TureNas Sever. I understand that some of the added feature would not work but, it would let you use HexOs like a build manager that would let you set up a site quick. I am assuming you can export a TureNas config. To me that would make it even more useful.

  11. Thanks
  12. Dear Santa Clause Please send me several servers and the same number of licenses for HexOS and I will be a good boy next year.
  13. I am just need to figure out the GPU to put in my Dell r530 it has 2 low profile sockets. But I am limited to 25 to 30 watts of draw. Still doing my research.
  14. I was wondering about that as well. On the YouTube feed nothing was talked about ram but I think the desktop PC they used only had 16gb. I am tired of messing with workstations and desktop PC. I have bought a rack and am using dell Poweredge servers just because they are so cheap. NOTE: I do not plug both power supply's in i only leave one plugged in the other is a spare.
  15. I currently have a Dell r530 with 64gb ram and dual E5-2670 v3 CPU's that give me 48 cores. I have Unraid on that machine. I just order another one and a pair of CPU's to put it exactly the same. That will let me do some really cool testing on HexOS and Unraid since the will be exact same hardware setup. I might even buy one more license so I can also load it on my Supermicro X8DTi-F motherboard as well.
