Adding SMB Share as Additional Storage for Application

Have an interesting use case here, that I have yet to find information on.
I am adjusting an Application to use an SMB share as one of the mount points.

So far, I have been unable to get this to save/mount.
Has anyone tested this? If so, how did you get it configured?

I'm guessing, that the share is on the same server, as the app. In that case, why aren't you adding the storaga as a Host Path?
