Is this supposed to be the 2025 Q3 HexOS update, or is it just an update for Command Deck?

If it's the latter, could we please get a little more clarity when we're teasing these drops? I thought today would be the day HexOS's support for TrueNAS-Scale 25.04-10 would drop.

And I was so looking forward to messing with LXCs too...

We've stated previously our intentions to skip past 25.04 entirely in favor of 25.10 when it drops. The Q3 update is for the Command Deck.

Is it possible that it may be the same issue, just some users didn't realize a fix had rolled out and may still need to apply it? Would hate for the dev team to go on a goose chase if there isn't actually an issue!

I think there may be a few gremlins at play here and it's worth spending a little time investigating given the amount of feedback we see here.

@jonp here you can see what it looks like when a user tries to update the Immich app through HexOS when they haven't manually migrated to new folders.

I am having the exact same issue since the Immich app in TrueNAS stopped supporting the old folder structure.

See the attached screenshot for the error you get in TrueNAS when attempting to upgrade the app.

When upgrading through TrueNAS it fails instantly, but HexOS is "in progress" for a very long time before giving up.

Need to pick up a couple extra keys if they go back to 99 again. Progress looks good. My system is running well enough. Just a hiccup that I hope someone can help with soon. I am so glad Immich is actually working smoothly and HomeAssistant, Jellyfin was added. Hoping the next apps help round out the media ecosystem with music option.

Thanks for the update. I have a bugfix regarding AMD GPUs that only recently got merged into 25.10. When we move from the current 25.10-RC.1 to release status, how long after this date would we expect to be able to upgrade to it within HexOS?

I also have this issue, as does my brother

I also have this issue, my immich has been down since the update, I tried migrating all my picture to the built in "Photo" folder but immich still won't properly install. Even after an uninstall and reinstall.

Thank you for the thoroughly detailed report!  This definitely helps. @jerod and the team and looking into this further and exploring different paths to resolve.

What was the fix that had rolled out? Just being able to update through the command deck?

If you get tired of waiting I can attest that uninstalling, removing all datasets and reinstalling worked for me also.  If you have 1.2 tb of data I don't recommend this approach but I got tired of waiting for a solution and though it was worth the hours of reloading from my backup.  Yea it could turn out to be an unnecessary waste of time but I am up and running now so I accept the time spent.

I swapped from an iPhone to an android phone for a little bit so immich is the true archive of all my photos. I definitely have the same issue @manders posted above. Hopefully they're able to narrow it down and resolve it quickly

How can I download to folders like Movies and Shows using qBittorrent? It would be very impractical to have to move everything from /config/Downloads manually.

Good catch.  @jerod we should probably map those folders automatically for qBittorrent.

I was making plans for backing up immich elsewhere, and I noticed that in the documentation about the types of data it says that certain parts should be ready only externally. However, if I understand the new share layout (I'm still on the old config) it is sharing the read only (uploads) and read/write (external library) all the same.

Are we expecting noone will go to the Photos/immich folder on the NAS and edit files they shouldn't? Or am I missing something? Seems like a recipe for trouble otherwise.

I wonder why qbittorrent is configured to use /config/download instead of the share created with the app ? I didn't understand why it would not dowload there until I figured out, for now I just change the share location within  truenas ui....

I have a Media dataset with relevant folders I create in that. In qB options in TrueNAS you have a qBittorrent Downloads Storage location that I have set to Media. Then from Qb I have categories setup that download whatever the torrent is to relevant subfolders based on the category I choose.

I set this up before it was part of the Hex app libray so I'm not sure how it's setup here by default but this seems to work well for me. The app data (host path) is in an Applications dataset.

It also seems that with the latest Immich update, you cannot download the update. I have tried uninstalling it and nothing, it keeps appearing.

Go to the truenas interface, Update to 24.10.2.4 first if you haven't already. Then click on apps > discover apps > refresh catalog. Then try to update/install from the command deck again. At least this fixed it for me.

Thank you, it is now installed but it keeps going into Deploying mode every few minutes.

I hope that the Hexos team will soon release an update to fix these issues.

We've discovered a handful of different issues with immich plaguing users. We are on the case and it's a priority issue for us!

Reinstall should work, I had the same issue and honestly didn't want to keep fighting, so I just deleted and reinstalled. It's been working and updating fine ever since.
