Sonic Posted May 20 Posted May 20 And also another new player in the NAS market. The Orico Cyberdata Vault NAS – Price and Release Date The ORICO CyberData Vault NAS series is expected to launch via Kickstarter in late May to early June, marking the company’s formal entry into the high-performance private cloud storage sector. While final pricing has not yet been confirmed, ORICO aims to offer a competitive tiered structure across the six models, reflecting differences in storage configurations, processing power, and expansion options. Positioned as a direct response to a wave of emerging Chinese NAS alternatives, the CyberData Vault lineup is expected to compete with recent and upcoming releases such as the UGREEN NASync DXP series, the Minisforum N5 Pro, and the Aoostar WTR Max. All of these systems target prosumer and professional users seeking hybrid storage, high-speed connectivity, and non-subscription-based private cloud infrastructure—an increasingly active space that ORICO appears intent on disrupting with its multi-model launch strategy. I think we're seeing a definite move towards compact devices. The N1xx series from Intel has been a big hit for low to mid range devices which is perfect for the demographic I mentioned. Geopolitics aside, I hope to see an increase in performance over time. Thanks for sharing! Quote
Mobius Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Came across something really cool in a short circuit video TLDW its a ups/psu all in one unit. The second there is a beefier higher wattage version of this, i am most definitely getting it. Quote 1 Quote

Also nice to experiment with 3d printed cases The Zimma Board 2 will be my first foray into homelabbing. We'll see how it goes. I can hardly wait for it to arrive. I ordered the 8GB memory version but might look into getting the 16GB variant aslo. Quote
ulfn Posted Monday at 08:43 AM Posted Monday at 08:43 AM Just a comment on the question itself, ”What new gear are you interested in?” I believe this topic by @Dylan will have eternal life. I compare this to a Swedish hifi forum I take part in, where a user in September 2005 posted the topic ”What are you listening to right now?” Two simple and innocent questions started it all. ”What’s rotating on your record player right now? What’s playing in Windows Media player at this moment? ” This topic is still active now in 2025 with new posts regularly. Hifi people always listen to music 😉 And in the area we’re in, there will always be new computer gear to catch your eye. Or new software, for that matter. I believe this was like hitting the nail on the head. A reflection on a Monday. 2 Quote
Dylan Posted yesterday at 02:21 AM Author Posted yesterday at 02:21 AM Exactly why I made this post - to encourage ongoing dialogue. (BTW - on MY media player just now happens to be a delightful mix of uplifting house transitioning to solid, German techno) Quote
