PsychoWards Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Lucky you, mines are still not send 😞 How do you like it so far? Quote
Sonic Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 My first impression: This is really a great device. The time between unboxing and entering the BIOS menu of one of my servers via JetKVM was only 5 minutes. Impressive! Also the userinterface looks very smooth. When I compare this with my BliKvm v4, the JetKvm is a big step forward. I am happy 🙂. It looks like a great device for a very reasonable price. I didn't test the video performance yet. I only used it for my proxmox character based UI. Quote

PsychoWards Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I only did a late pledge after you posted about it in here, but I already had an email to confirm my address before shipment, which I didn't saw because it was in the spam folder. Should arrive in a couple of days, now I need to wait for them to finally sell it publicly, because I really really want this power on/off addon 🙂 Quote

After confirming my address it was delivered in a couple of days. I think you will like this device very much! Quote
Iliyria Posted April 17 Posted April 17 The 2 I purchased finally shipped.... now the waiting game 1 Quote
Sonic Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 I am still very happy with my JetKVMs. Really helpful. Please share your experiences after the waiting game. Quote
Mascot Posted April 17 Posted April 17 My only issue with my JetKVM, is that it's not yet possible for me to order more of them.. 😛 Quote
PsychoWards Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I got mine yesterday, tested them quickly and they are working. Now I only need to wait for retail to order the Power On/Off accessory Quote
PsychoWards Posted yesterday at 05:32 PM Posted yesterday at 05:32 PM What absolutely annoys me the most is that it needs an USB-A to USB-C cable, USB-C to USB-C is not working for power delivery. 🤦♂️🤬 Quote

I just tested mine with a usb-c to usb-c cable on three different power supplies, it powered up just fine in all three cases. Quote

Is it the DC Extension? --> It will not only control the power supply to another computer, but also supplies the JetKVM with 5V through the RJ 11 cable. Quote

I did also some tests. usb-c to usb-c cable with a Apple usb-c power supply works in my setup. Quote
PsychoWards Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM I tried 2 different power supplies and a power bank using the included usb c splitter, none of them worked 😞 Quote
Mascot Posted yesterday at 06:49 PM Posted yesterday at 06:49 PM Did you try without the splitter to see if that's the issue? Quote

No I did not, I will try this tomorrow. 31 minutes ago, Sonic said: Did you run the latest update. Perhaps that’s make a difference. Yes, latest update is installed, but I'm on the stable channel Quote
PsychoWards Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I just tried different cables and PSUs and the splitter is not working with anything which requires the mandatory USB-C power delivery negotiation. It's working correctly when directly connected the the JetKVM however with the splitter it's no longer working... So USB-A PSU it is in my case. Quote
Mascot Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 9 minutes ago, PsychoWards said: I just tried different cables and PSUs and the splitter is not working with anything which requires the mandatory USB-C power delivery negotiation. I guess that makes some sense now that I think about it. If it's just a physical split with no circuitry involved, then higher voltages would be a very bad idea to send through it without some way of knowing if both devices could handle it. It seems to me that it would make some sense for PD to go for a "something's connected but I'm not getting negotiation, I guess I'll send some old school USB-A power" mode, but I know nothing about the protocol so that notion might just underline my ignorance of how this works. Quote
PsychoWards Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago USB-A is working because it's always delivering 5V 500mA (or 900mA for USB3.0) without needing to negotiate. And my PSUs seem to all require USB-C PD negotiation which my included splitter doesn't seem to support. But none of the reviewers mentioned it and their splitters also has a different colour, there might be different splitters included in the package and some might support negotiation or their PSU doesn't require PD negotiation, there are a few possibilities on why it might be working for others. 🙂 Quote
Sonic Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago @PsychoWards, perhaps a stupid thought. Did you put the USB-C power plug in the right part of the splitter? On my splitter you see to different marks. One for power and one for data. Quote
PsychoWards Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Hey I did double check this, it's correctly connected to the correct plug. But you also have the same splitter as the YT reviewers, mine's different and I am now convinced that indeed the splitter is the issue. Quote
Sonic Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago You can test this by connecting the USB-C power directly to the JetKVM (without splitter). I just did a quick test. With USB-C power directly conneted to my JetKVM the device turns on. Quote
