Hey All, i'm sure a lot of this community are in the hacker / maker space.

I'm thinking of getting a 3D Printer, and was considering a Bamboo labs until their recent issues...

Thus, Of the competitors, what would people suggest?

My preferred requirements are;

  • Enclosed case
  • Multi filament feeder
  • A good mix of fast <> high resolution (Potential to configure either way
  • Ideally as plug and play as possible, but still options to upgrade / customise

I have a creality K1 and I can recommend this 3D printer. The only downside for me is that the printbed is not big enough for 10 inch rack parts.  I don't have the multi fillament feeder, but that's an option.

The K1 max and the K2 plus combo (with multi filament feeder) are also available and have a bigger printbed. There is a pretty big price difference between the K1 ($389) and the K2 plus Combo ($1499).

I don't have experience with other brands.

Check out the new Prusa Core One with the MMU3. Checks all our boxes and it offers unparalleled upgradeablity. Prusa does offer an upgrade Path to the latest printer each time and this way to can easily upgrade and don't need to buy a new printer each time a new model is released.

Yeah was considering the K2 Combo, steep price compared to the Bambu Lab P1S 3D.... Also the Prusa core one, but doesn't have multi material support.

Does it, on the site it looked like you couldn't get multi material support?

Im a bamboo snob, must came from all the years of fighting my ender3

I feel this pain, but I've got so much time and money into extending and modifying my ender that I bought just before covid, I am hesitant to spend the money on Bambu. Especially with their recent stance change.
