so lets assume the Hex hardware fails in a build but data drives are fine.

Is it as simple as replacing dead hardware, create a new Hex install ( and everything that goes with it), attach original drives and import the ZFS pool?

Just getting my head around zfs as I havent really used it before.

I would appreciate an answer too. I don't have a HexOS server yet, but this is a good question.

As I stated I have changed hardware and it boots back up and goes with the flow

So you moved all drives to the new build(s), including the boot drives?

@Creative0100, it sounds like HexOS doesn't care as long as the drives (including the boot drive of course) are present

So I moved chassis completely , added a whole new HBA, added new drives changed processor and memory , and added more HDDS . everything was running like a champ until I biffed up some back end things that I was able to fix

@ubergeek and @Dylan, please help me out. Biffed? Sounds nice, but I really don’t have a clue 😀.English is not my first language.

It's a made up word that is easily understood to be "messed up" or, more plainly, "made a big mistake".

Another reason it can be funny is it is similar to the name of the bad guy in "Back to the Future"
