Server stopped working after a single power down. Did I break it.

Question

B250 MOBO; I5 6502P; RX480; 480GB SATA3; 8TB 3.5" x 2

I spent 5 days uploading 1TB of photos into Immich and was excited to store server in basement.  So I made sure no transfers were active and then short pressed the power button on the PC to let it power itself off.

I put the side cover onto the case and carried it downstairs to the shelf where it was to live.  After booting it up the immich app did not connect. I plugged in a monitor and the only difference I think there might be what it calls the 'web user interface' IP address.

The IP address I remember this having was 192.168.1.110

Now it is a number like this:  104.205.xxx.xxx  so did I make it lose its mind when I checked a box in plex to make the server available outside the home network?  I want to go back to the local IP and get it running again and hopefully not need to reupload all of my photos all over again.

Hi @dgaskell What happens when you go to 'deck.hexos.com

I can login just fine.

The little down arrow says "××××××server is online and healthy" but my system health, processer, memory cycles from red to updating and back to red with the health saying "your server is not running normally"

Status.hexos.com says "all systems operational",  uptime 100.00%.

Please help!

@dgaskell Can you uninstall the Plex app, reboot and see what happens? Also, can you log into your router and see what IP address the router has assigned to you HexOS NAS?

Hi Dylan,

I took your advice and checked router IP and found I had zero IPV4 LAN connections.   When I brought the server back up to kitchen it booted with OG 192.168.1.110!  So I traded the ethernet port at router and now it is booted with OGIP in basement,  Hexdeck is glitched as before but now I can login to Truenas_admin and that can see the system cpu memory yet it seems my storage pools are lost and it doesnt detect any apps.

The router was a good lead, I dont understand why moving physical router port led to breaking my system but thats what this beta is for.

I'm going to check back here later after investigating the trunas access but I'm wondering if a fresh start over is where I am at.

A fresh start is probably a good idea 🙂 It sounds like you plugged your HexOS box into your WAN, rather than the LAN side of your router. I imagine your network configuration changed when you did this, which is why you lost access and why HexOS reported your WAN IP.

I did not fresh start but after trying several times to "Wipe Everything" and start over I went back into truenas_admin where I found feature to add storage pool where It detected my previous existing storage pool and returned it to me ...  THEN in the apps menu I picked detect apps and then the Immich, plex appeared as already installed!

This takes me out of my default HexOS experience so thats kind of bad.  But at least I got my storage pool back.  Immich and plex took an update which was not an option it seemed to update in HexOS.
