Development takes time. They went through a hiring phase.  Give them some time.

Sure thing, but its a basic thing for us that want to try it before installing it on main servers. Really hope this is a thing soon.

You can do a single drive pool by going to the truenas web portal and creating it. I have a single drive pool for my NVR. It just breaks HexOS dashboard at the moment.

For test  purposes you can also install HexOs in a VM and create two or three virtual harddisks. I run my test HexOs setup in Proxmox on a mini PC with 1 SSD

That's not really an answer though.  "Yeah you can do it manually using the thing that HexOS is trying to abstract away, and it breaks HexOS, you know the thing you installed because you didn't feel like dealing with the thing it abstracts away in the first place".

Correct, but it is the only way currently until they push an update for HexOS that supports single drive pools. But good job pointing out the obvious.

Yeah, and that method breaks HexOS dashboard which is not obvious, nor expected. Kind of important detail. It would be one thing if it was just something you had to (temporarily) do through TrueNAS, for it to show up. But it's quite the opposite effect.
