What Apps Would we want to see Supported?

Don't worry, I know this is like talking about the castle at the end of the journey before we even take our first step! I wanted to start this more as a discussion/casual poll of our most wanted apps, however, so that when it comes time to expanding, there's a list of ideas/feedback ready to go!

I'll start - I really want Tailscale support, be it natively, or official-unnoficial testing of the FreeBSD compile (if HexOS is built on the FreeBSD CORE image and not on SCALE - but either way!) that works on OPNSense/pfSense, or even in collaboration with Tailscale themselves. I think FreeBSD really needs some love to bring it more seamlessly to FreeBSD platforms and this is a perfect place to start, and if it's SCALE based, then I guess just testing and validation to make that oh-so-ideal one-click app deployment seamless!

Bonus entry; HomeAssistant support, but both ways. if HA can be set up ON HexOS, AWESOME! I think, though, that it would also kick butt if HA could connect to HexOS and get info from it; drive health, usage, CPU util/temp, stuff like that!

Big thanks to the Hex team and really looking forward to using this system!

Resilio Sync

I am aware there is an "app" for it for TrueNAS. However trying to get it setup is ridiculous. I have tried every permutation of settings to get it working. Failed every time. The only reference that I could find to get Resilio Sync to work on TrueNAS is in Japanese and there's NO sub titles for it.

@Sam of HamPretty sure I saw some screenshots from the WAN show that HomeAssistant as being part of the one-click installs, so look forward to that!

Nextcloud would be great to have. I’m looking for an alternative to Google Workspace and it seems like Nextcloud might be a good option.

Yeah the TrueNAS CORE implementation is like goddamn rocket surgery. I'm getting to CORE now via exit node/subnet routing, but without that, I'd still be tearing my hair out. SCALE is Debian (i think!) so it should likely be supported like Proxmox or any other Deb distro!

i'm not sure about the drivers but you can navigate to the truenas UI and click the enable nvidia passthrough for plex it's just a checkbox and it seems to work for me but i don't have a nvidia card i can use to test currently.

Resilio is so useful, I really hope it is included in a easy workable form.

Just a few things spring to mind that I’d love to see implemented at some point:

- Jellyfin (my personal #1 most wanted)

- Tailscale

- Game servers (Minecraft, Valheim, etc.)

- HomeAssistant would be super handy

Like others already said immich, plex and some security service (scanning/protection). Also awesome would be some kind of an integrated backup solution (buddy/offsite -backup).

My take right now is that we are "wishing upon stars" right now in hindsight of apps/functionality and maybe some will be disappointed with the beta but it's work in progress and will take time to build up to a solid product.
