Novice here. =/ This is my 2nd try at properly setting up my server. The first time i was having issues so I upgraded my hdd hardware to a Terramaster D6-320 and better truespec usb cable. Because this is a fresh install of hexos and I formatted all my drives I want to get it right from the start. No mater how many videos I watch I am still confused on what docker is and its use case. (its like a vm folder?) My main question is should I install and set up Dockage or other Docker like programs before installing plex, immich, & maybe home serves for minecraft and enshrouded? Is it needed? What novice benefits does one gain? Sorry for the beginner questions, just wanna learn more and get it right.

I would like to discussed app roadmap/priority. Items in red are high-priority. Reverse Proxy: traefik (alt options: caddy, nginx, HAproxy) Per-app integration options with reverse proxy (traefik). Dynamic DNS: ddns, cloudflared Auth/Security: authelia (alt option: authentik) App Dashboard: homepage, (alt options:, organizer, dashy, homarr, flame) Per-app integration with app dashboard. File Sync: nextcloud (alt options: synchthings) Docker Management (GUI): dockge (alt options: portainer) VPN: wireguard, tailscale Streaming: jellyfin (alt options: plex, emby, "arr" apps) This is by no means exhaustive, but a starting-point for discussion. This is based off of my own experience homelabbing first on OMV with docker using smarthome beginner tutorials, then transitioning to TrueNAS scale, using True Charts helm charts. My preference is self-hosting first and the ability to keep EVERYTHING local, then allowing cloud options for ease-of-use.

LinuxGSM is a way to easily install, run and manage game servers. They can either be installed natively in Linux, or as Docker Containers They have an easy to configure config file that's similar across all games, they have features to easily install, update, validate and manage servers, with support for a lot of games. I've personally been using it for years to host person servers and it's relatively easy to manually set up a custom app or yaml file in TrueNAS, especially since it only needs you to mount one storage location [/data] and everything is easily accessible inside there. to pick a game, you just select the version of the docker container. For example: gameservermanagers/gameserver:csgo Will make a CS:GO server, but changing the tag to :cs2 will download and create a CS:2 server, etc... Having a one click installer or an app with an easy configuration would make things incredibly simple for most users, and thanks to how they're configured it (might, I'm not a developer, pls don't shoot me) be easy to implement. Would love something like a "portainer" app to easily install portainer and docker with containers volumes being stored on the NAS. Honorable mentions: - nextcloud - nginx proxy manager - zabbix - sonarr / radarr / the other "arr" softwares - mqtt relay - uptime kuma - paperless-ngx - actually Im gonna make another post for that one.... that's a big one most people should have imho.

Did not see anything about LXC support. I have been using that in Proxmox for multiple services. Even if it is in a VM that has GUI supported LXC options that would be a good workaround. Having the options to do DOCKER, LXC and VMs would be amazing to have out of the box.
