I'd wager that, like TrueNAS, it will be ZFS.

Any OS/device with a browser should be able to access (as a client) the HexOS (the server) resources, assuming permissions and other access control parameters are met.

Time to replace my 10yo 2x2TB (original WD's) NETGEAR ReadyNAS. Just bought the N100/16GB version of the Aoostar WTR Pro (haven't settled on which disks to use, yet) I really only use my NAS for storage and streaming. That little 2 bay netgear with an ARM quad-core 1.4GHz processor and 2GB RAM did everything I needed. Now, with this new hardware that comes with Win11, I need to settle into a new NAS OS and hoping HexOS can be that for me. Lifetime for $99? I'm in!
