beardedbrewer Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Is an old Datto appliance... an S4e12 was the model... the specs: CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon Silver 4210 (total of 40 cores) RAM: 64 GB of DDR4 Has a total of 12 3.5 inch bays, 2 2.5 inch bays and at least 1 m.2 slot. I currently have 6 x 4 TB drives for 1 pool, 3 x 6 TB drives for a second pool, and 2 x 1 TB SSDs for another pool and the boot drive is on an 500 GB m.2 SSD. I plan on adding at least 2 more 4 TB drives to increase the pool size to 28 TB and 1 more 6 TB drive to increase the other pool to 18 TB. Eventually, I would love to use much larger drives, but gotta wait for the price of drives to come down. I feel like this system is a bit overkill for home use, but I plan on running some VMs off of it as well. What do you guys think?
Mobius Posted March 24 Posted March 24 with that amount of cores, a gold bar worth of ram and plenty of storage I think you'll have a pretty good time 1
