I would like to install Nginx Proxy Manager, DuckDNS, the Arr's (Sonarr, Radarr etc.), Jellyfin etc. If these could be direct app installs, this would be great.

We're thinking of supporting the install of something like Portainer.  Would that satisfy your needs?  If not, what platform would you prefer?

the one thing i find good about UnRAID is the use of Templates made by third party's and would love to see that if not an AppStore for those beginners with Docker.

I understand Docker but i find it useful to read a PreMade Template to understand requirements where i can build from it if i need to for additional directories variables etc

Portainer works for me, currently running on a Synology and a Ubuntu server, hopefully replacing both with one hexos box 🙂 so easy stack deployment via portainer would be good 👍

I hope the HexOS team copies established platforms in terms of Docker Deployments. Docker and VM support are my primary items.

Its really neat to be on the ground floor of the project. I'm looking forward to nerding extra hard this weekend

with the correct backups/restores it could work wonders for newbs like my self, I've messed some installs up in the past and had no clue but to start again, a simple restore to the backup I just made or something would be really ideal 😛

I'm more of a fan of dockge since it's a bit less fiddly than portainer, but I might be one of few with that opinion.

Portainer is good, but I'd likely use dockge. As it seems more lightweight and easy to use compared to Portainer.

I'm assuming we'll be able to install Docker images aimed at TrueNAS Scale?  Or does every app need something different for HexOS?

You can use anything but you will need to manually add it in the true nas ui.

Portainer would be a dream!

What about running docker compose files? Is that currently possible, or at least be able to be implemented.

If portainer would be available, docker compose can be run in there I suppose.

Portainer seems like a good solution for now as I'm practicing data engineering beginning tasks, but I’d like the option to interact with Kubernetes outside of Portainer for more advanced use cases. Is there a way to manage Kubernetes directly while using Portainer?
