Fasio Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Hi, very nice update, here are some points of feedback: On the Immich app, it showed the button "An updated configuration is available for this app", which I clicked. Afterwards, my Immich instance wouldn't start up again. I looked into it on the truenas interface where the server container wouldn't start but instead display long error messages before crashing. I noticed that the data storage path was moved from "Host Path" to ixVolume. After I changed it back to the original path, everything worked again. If the switch to an ixVolume is intended, I'd like to have the option (in HexOS) to choose a host path instead, as I want to be able to access my photos via the smb share from another pc. I guess, my trouble with the immich app could have been avoided, if the update notification in the HexOS interface showed the changes clearly, instead of the generic "This will reset every change you made in TrueNAS" message that pops up right now. Also, I installed Nextcloud before it was curated on HexOS, so now I would be interested in migrating my installation to the curated version (without uninstalling and re-installing the app). I tried using the configuration update button, which (expectedly) did not do anything. 3
Musashi Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Awesome! I have a Intel iGPU with Jellyfin. How do I know if transcoding is taking advantage of my iGPU now? 2

FryedWater Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago after installing the update my 2 of 2 HDDs are both saying they've failed. Previously worked with 0 issue before the update, even yesterday they were working fine with new files uploaded.
freid Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago So my update to 25.10.1 - Goldeye was uneventful with no errors reported and all apps and VMs seeming to function perfectly. Great job guys! Now in the interface I see this alert for a few apps: If I click the update now button I then have this warning: I was wondering if this was the way to migrate from TrueNAS installed apps to curated ones? Is the process safe?

Is the process safe? I did this as a test with Radarr and it completely reset everything. Had to redo mounts, set the new API Key everywhere etc. Bit annoying and unfortunate, won't be doing it with Sonarr etc as I did a ton of stuff in there unless it's absolutely necessary. The UI wants me to update the configs for Sonarr, Jellyfin, Radarr (done this one as it's the least used of my curated apps) and Prowlarr. Edited 12 hours ago by Ruga added more context

I could understand the mounts (if different than the default locations). The rest like API keys are a bit confusing unless you weren't able to reconnect to your previous database. It would be nice if the interface perhaps showed a comparison between what the existing configuration is and what the updated one looks like so that changes could be minimised before updating. That way, if I have to move a mount manually before the upgrade I would do that so that once the update is done everything works exactly as before I switch to the curated version. 1

I figured it'd keep the DB etc, but it was like a fresh install unfortunately. I specifically chose Radarr to try it, as I only added a couple of movies and did not set up much. If I had to do the above for Jellyfin and Sonarr it'd be a real hassle. Though I should note that I did not make a backup from Radarr beforehand (via GUI) so I didn't try the restore after - if you did that you probably could restore the library at least after you restored the mounts.

Ruga Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Interesting thing just happened: I updated Prowlarr to test the restore functionality for Sonarr and it wasn't reset after the script got updated. Started up and had all the Indexers and connections still set up. Could someone from the HexOS Team maybe elaborate on what those updates in their scripts actually do? 2

I was about to start attempting these updates, but after reading these comments, I’m gonna hold off for now. Would love to get more insight on what’s happening.
Vitor Gabriel Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Hi. The only problem I'm noticing is that its failing to update to GoldEye
FangerZero Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Just a word of caution, I did the "update setup" thing with JellyFin and it reset the application so I have to reset it all up. So if you do that you'll have to reset your libraries and users up. Edited 4 hours ago by FangerZero
SBerry Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This latest update doesn't seem to agree with my NAS. My installed apps no longer appear on the main dash screen or under installed apps. They are definitely still there as my Plex server still works, I have internet access so the pihole is still running etc. I should have: Immich, Plex, Jellyfin, Node Red, Tailscale, pihole and Syncthing all installed but hexos doesn't seem any of them now. Was all ok before the update.
Todd Miller Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I guess when Jerod said it was a major upgrade he wasn't kidding. 42 minutes ago, FangerZero said: Just a word of caution, I did the "update setup" thing with JellyFin and it reset the application so I have to reset it all up. Yes there may be more resets in the meantime but it's still a bitter pill to swallow.

Ripping all those DVDs was a PITA. Edited 3 hours ago by FangerZero
AJV Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I have some apps that I set up to fit my server needs. We should have an option to ignore the “updated configuration” notice. Thank you for your hard work
jonp Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We are investigating these issues. Thank you for reporting. I can confirm that when a curation gets updated, it can enable things like GPU transcoding. Our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused and we will work to right this in a future update.
Luke Sellwood Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) My server has not come back up after the update is up on the local truenas interface but not hex os interface app are also up and running like pi hole etc Edited 2 hours ago by Luke Sellwood
FangerZero Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I went to check on Immich since it was another one that needed to update and First off I can't launch it there's nothing located at that IP:Port I get unable to connect. But also if I click on options I get this. THe wording and selections are weird, might want this checked out too. I'm not resetting anything... UPDATE By clicking reset it did say it was going to reset to HexOS defaults (should've already have been those?) And now I can access Immich Edited 2 hours ago by FangerZero
