Really excited to use ZFS for the first time (assuming adoption by HexOS) at home. I used to support several advertisement racks that used ZFS and grabbed THIS BOOK to get up to speed. It took a bit of study, making mistakes and learning how to fix them before I felt comfortable managing a vdev storage pool but ZFS is legit. Might even try to set up a VPN on the new NAS I just bought so...fingers crossed.

Will we get alerting to go with it? I'd love to know if my ZFS pool is in a degraded state.

You still have access to the TrueNas interface, so anything it can do you can still do.

@SparkrdomTrueNAS can do a lot of thing, so "technically" HexOS is very flexible, even at this stage. However, my understanding of the goal is to have core functionalities available in HexOS with easy of use. I guess my question would be then if alerting is considered important enough to be part of the HexOS offering.

@fdeschapeFrom what I read so far, importing ZFS from existing TrueNas installation seems to be a pretty high priority.
