Does "Lifetime License" apply in the case of hardware failure/corrupted OS install? What if the failure is due to a bug?

It's likely that many of the people here will have a drive failure, or a catastrophic bug, or something that stops access to the server. Does that mean the license is gone?

I can't deactivate it if it stops working, especially if it's a local install.

What about when they offer local options? I see either you lose the license or you get the possibility of just taking it offline and hosting a local network instance without a license.

If you have to deactivate your license for a new machine after the company goes under... then what? I assume they will have a local only version distributed for free use but at that point, what features will be missing?
