Question

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if it's possible to remove a server from the HexOS Dashboard and migrate to a newer one without having to pay $199 for it. Since I'll only be running one server at a time and the initial one might be a bit resource-limited for my future needs, I'm hoping to upgrade without extra costs.

Also, is there any Offically suppored way to migrate from an Old Server running HexOS to a new one without losing all data on it and the settings?

You can reuse your HexOs license. If you disconnect your current server, then you are able to claim your new server in the HexOs deck. You can still use your Old server via the TrueNas interface. There is no such thing as automated migration available in HexOs

Hello, I have a similar issue.

As I changed my network setting on my router, I had to reclaim my existing server in old class C network scope. Now that the HexOS server is configured with the new Class C network (IP and DNS) the server is reachable via the detection mode on the HexOS command deck. If I proceed with the claim I type in the adminPW and then comes the point of no return, from my point of view.

The setup guide asks about storage pools and warns with erasing all data on it. As I have some important stuff stored on the drives, this step is a show stopper for now. I could need some help, how to continue. Do I go the route by configuring the pools afterwards, hoping my filesystem is healthy and working afterwards? I really don't know what to do, don't wann amess something up and waiting for some input from you.

Thanks in advance and have a good one.
