Plex not installing

Hey,

im trying to install plex. I go to applications - plex and click on install. 
The wheel is spinning and after appr. 30s the install button reappears. The folders (media, movies,...) are were created, but the app isnt running.

I already tried to manually put in the dns servers that my router is using. I also checked if dns is working by pinging google.de from the truenas shell.

@fckiagged and @Woggie, is this the first time you run the setup of Plex and Immich in Hexos? Or did you run the setup before and did you delete the Plex and Immich app in HexOs?

it was the first time for me. I came back to it later and tried again and now they've appeared. Not sure what changed but it's working now.

Looking for an answer to the same problem here as well, although it's 5-10 seconds before it shows install again for me (and notifications says it was installed but still isn't)

I know this issue occurs when a pool is created via Truenas. Did one of you created a pool via Truenas?

Relevant information:

This is a brand-new install of HexOS, having only just gotten the hardware together for a NAS. I ran through the install, but during web setup I accidentally went to the TrueNAS setup interface (because I followed the IP address that was displaying on the NAS's screen) and created a user, pool, etc through that. At this point, I was also able to install some apps through the TrueNAS interface, including Plex and Immich.

After that, and when attempting to figure out how to actually use the storage, I realized my mistake of accessing TrueNAS and navigated to the main HexOS setup. However, as my prior means of setup didn't create the basic folders, plus encountered a couple of other oddities, I attempted a 'Reset' to try and get the install back into the normal setup.

The Reset worked, but it did not create the structure I was looking for. At that point, I decided I'd just try doing it manually, and moved on.

Which brings me to the point I'm at now, where HexOS seems to be working normally (I was able to set up a computer backup to it and connect to a shared folder), but I'm unable to download any apps.

Help is appreciated.

So when you create a pool with the truenas interface, hexos doesn't automatically setup permissions.

You will have to go back into the truenas ui and set your pool as the applications pool. Once that is done, one click hexos app installations should work again,

I didn’t. My pool was created with n HexOS

No I booted the server up, then tried installing before realizing I needed other than the boot HDD to install apps, then I got new HDDs the other day and tried installing but still won't

So i created my pool in hexos, not true nas. And it randomly started to work for me as well. Cant reproduce ist. Couldnt finde an obvious place for logs either. Random

Did you change anything in true as or your server settings between it not working and now?

nothing actually. I tried to install an app via Truenas, which worked. Tried it in hexos again. Didnt work. Then it randomly worked

so i tried to manually install it on TrueNAS but i seem to be getting this error below when i install

[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/mnt/.ix-apps/truenas_catalog/trains/stable/plex/1.1.19'

 

any solutions please

same issue with jellyseerr while installing in truenas... i just restarted the server and now it seems to be working... there also says that truenas update is avaliable... should i update it or should i not... for hexos and stuff...

I had the exact same issue. Stumbled across another post that fixed it for me. I just went to my router settings and copied the two DNS server IP's and then pasted them into the HexOS "DNS 1" and "DNS 2" prompts shown here:

After that is done I was able to install Plex no problem.
