user_no_1 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 This may be a bad idea. I have a drobo b810n which I replaced with a Synology, but I have been thinking about how to reuse it. Since Drobo is out of business, it seems unlikely to ever get any use out of it without an outright replacement OS. HexOS seems like it could offer some potential here. Curious if the developers have given something like this any consideration, or if it's just easier to build a PC based NAS? Quote
ubergeek Posted February 3 Posted February 3 So after going over the documentation for that unit, the only way I could see hexos working is if someone was able to make a direct port like a firmware upgrade. Unlike other NAS manufacturers that basically build their units as a mini pc "with a hdmi display" where you would have the opportunity to load your choice of OS. You might wanna look into building something for the long haul Quote
