Question

Posted (edited)

Looking at the HexOS interface, I don't see a good way to determine if the software is up to date. It would be nice to see what version is currently running, what is the latest version, opt-in for automatic updates, and opt-in for scheduled updates.

When I go into the TrueNas UI, I can see updates are available. However, it is unclear if it effects HexOS at all. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, but I would like to some assurance that if I updated TrueNas, then it will be compatible with HexOS that is running.

HexOs is still an early beta. This functionality is not available yet. If you use the update functionality in TrueNas you can lose the connection with HexOs. Advice: wait for a HexOs update. The HexOs team is still very small and they are scaling up. @jonp stated that they are redefining the roadmap. I expect it will take a couple of weeks until HexOs communicate the way forward.
