MSKenyon Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Anyone building a HexOS instance in a Ugreen NAS? How's the experience? Quote
Nutrafin3D Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I have a Ugreen on the way and am interested in this as well. I bought the early HexOS deal to maybe eventually try it out once it is more fleshed out Quote
Sonic Posted January 10 Posted January 10 You can check nascompares.com. You will find several guides to install TrueNas on Qnap, Terramaster, Ugreen, ... Example: How to Install UnRAID/TrueNAS on a UGREEN NAS - A Quick Install Guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmFb_kO5V3Q Quote
markrieder Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I like UGREEN because it is simple and has everything for an ordinary user. Most of us just want a media server and host a few other applications or run a VM and have RAID support. It has a nice and clear mobile application for remote access to UGREEN. Before you install TrueNAS (HexOS), I recommend creating a clone of the UGOS system or installing it on another disk because UGREEN does not have an iso system but only an img, which is only firmware. So, to return to the UGOS system, you need to contact support, where they will provide you with the iso system based on the serial number, but it's a lengthy process, so make a backup and then you can start testing. 1 Quote
markrieder Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I use the Macrium Reflect software, which creates a complete backup of the entire drive with all partitions. Quote
