How do I access the app after its installed?

Hi All 🙂 

Totally new to TrueNas / HexOS, I'm used to using Proxmox and running VMs that way, moved all my things over to Hex now, to give it ago. I installed Immich but other than a notification saying it's installed it has no link to access the control panel etc. I assumed since it was supposed to be natively installed by Hex, it would show the application. 

 

Also side note, how do we apply updates when they come out? I updated TrueNAS after I installed HexOS and it broke my pool and I had to start all over again. I wish it had more hand-holding at times, as right now it just looks like a small webpage giving limited options 😞

To access the apps you can click the app you installed and on the pop up should be a launch button.  If that does not work you can manually type into your browser the up is HexOS with the port number of the apps.

 

and for updating do not update truenas yet, HexOS has stated in some forum post that they are working on updating things.  You can update but you should wait for them to validate things first.

 

and for apps something.

but apps I am less worried about so I log into truenas and update the apps there

Thanks for the reply mate, but it does not seem to be working for me at all sadly whats the port for Immich? I can give that a go?

Sorry, what exactly do I need to type into the browser?  The launch button worked when I first set up the applications but now nothing happens.

My launch button also doesn't work. What I have done instead is open up truenas, click apps in the left hand side, find and select immich, then in the right click "Web UI". That should open up the correct web browser, then just bookmark that for future.

If you need to fall back the TrueNas to run an app, I would be suspicious of it having installed successfully.  I can't say it is unacceptable though because it is the app (like Immich or Plex) running regardless of how you got there.  When I had a similar issue it was because of a security issue with the folders that someone helped me with so I bet it could be a lot of things.
