I was tinkering so idk if that is the real fix, or if my issue messed it up and a restart fixed my issue that caused it not to install properly. Quote
DelaneyJasonT Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 I'm having the same issue, Rebooted the server twice and my browser. I also cleared the cache. I'm trying to get both Plex and Immich, neither will install. After the reboots though I have new "Platform folders" : Photos, Media, Music, Movies, Shows, Videos. But the apps only show the option to install. Still digging into it but I'll update if I get it running. 1 Quote
TheScruffyBear Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 I'm having the same problem too. Fresh install today of Hex and Immich just keeps showing 'Install' button. I now have a 'Photos' folder but the app doesnt want to install. Quote
Theo Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 First debug step would be to go into the Truenas ui and watch the running jobs (top right corner) and see what shows / fails as you click install on hex. Additionally, ensure you created your Hex install with the pools at the same time. some people have created their hex install, skipped the pool creation and this skipped the docker install/setup, meaning apps won't get installed correctly. 1 1 Quote
TheScruffyBear Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Managed to fix the problem. Go into True NAS interface from Settings in Hex. Go to 'Apps' menu, click 'Configuration' drop down button, click 'Choose Pool', select your storage pool then click 'Choose' - the app service will then start, go back to HexOS and install Immich again and all will work. 11 5 Quote

Thank you! Worked wonders!!! But this seems like a bug to me. Shouldn't HexOS be able to tell TrueNas which pool to use for apps? Or at the very least present that option to users in the HexOS UI? So, I think I'm screwed in this scenario? I have dual actuator drives. TrueNas, let alone HexOS, doesn't recognize both actuators in the WebUI. It has to be done in the command line. Each actuator is read as a separate entity. I start HexOS, create a pool with, in my case, 4 drives it can see. It can't see the other 4. I delete the pool, go into TrueNas via HexOS and manually create the new pool via the shell. I import the pool and everything is fine but it can't install apps. Always get a server error. If I'm understanding correctly, I don't have something crucial set up and now it's not going to work properly. Is there a way to rectify this without just starting over and waiting for a better option to come along? No data is on the drives so I don't care about saving anything. Just looking to get setup Quote

I also have the same issue installing and running Plex on my HexOS setup. Following your steps, I get an error. [EFAULT] Failed to stop docker service: [EFAULT] Failed to umount dataset: Dataset SSDs/ix-apps not found But I seem to get a simal issue every time my NAS reboots Failed to configure docker for Applications: Missing "SSDs/ix-apps/docker, SSDs/ix-apps/truenas_catalog, SSDs/ix-apps/app_mounts, SSDs/ix-apps/app_configs" dataset(s) required for starting docker. 2025-02-05 19:10:38 (America/Los_Angeles) I have completely wiped my drives and reset my HexOS. I fully disconnected the drives and wiped them again, but I am still experiencing the same issues. Can anyone provide help? 12th gen i7-12700k 16gb DDR5 HexOS installed on an Intel 512 m.2 3x WD - Red Plus 10TB NAS HexOS v0.1.010825000 TrueNAS-SCALE-24.10.0 Edited February 7 by keroro_hanabi Quote

I swear I did this, but i guess not. I followed this from ScruffyBear and it fixed it. On 12/14/2024 at 5:03 PM, TheScruffyBear said: Managed to fix the problem.
