I’d consider this an unofficial thread unless the mods/admins/owners pin it to make it official. 😄

The main reason I started this thread is that I know some people have servers capable of running HexOS but have since upgraded to better equipment. As a result, they’ve discontinued using their old NAS servers and might just want to get rid of them, etc., etc.

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't been on a forum in a long while, took me a minute to remember BST was a thing! An official BST section would be pretty neat though at some point.

I think official bst is probably not a great idea just yet. They def need more constant moderation and attract all the scammers. 

 

Maybe once the team is more acclimated with everything it'll be fine

I'm just going off of my experience at r/hardwareswap where more than half of the response dms i get are from scammers

If you guys are serious, ping Jon and ask for his thoughts on opening up a BST space. The mod controls are fairly easy but I can tell you there is a finite amount of time I'd spend as a mod shutting down spammers. We're still early so it could probably work if Jon approved.

Definitely interested in this. Main concern is scammers. That said, I bet there is a happy middle ground. I would want to consult with our legal team before I commit to this, but I’m certainly not opposed to the idea.

I know on our pages we advise people about scams and best practice on how to avoid them. With that said there is no 100% fool proof way, the best way is to only use money exchanges that have buyer protection paypal ect. Anyone that makes deals outside of that is at your own risk

I assist in moderating a BST group with well north of 220k members. We see our fair share of scammers there, however we do have some of the lowest amount of users to be scammed compared to similar BST forums/sites.
