  2. I have the AMD version because I think it is better suited for virtualization. I upgraded the ram and ssd. I am not running Hex on it because in my opinion it is a demo that I cannot rely on yet.
  3. I also own an Aoostar 4 bay. The official aoostar website does not offer a 7 bay version. Where did you get it? I like it
  4. It was mentioned in another post but unfortunately no fix was made. The problem was that if you uninstall immich for example and want to reinstall it, it will fail to install again because something is left in the cache. If you delete the pool and recreate it, the installation of applications still does not work. The only thing that will help is to reinstall Hex and not uninstall applications or delete the pool because Hex will be unusable again.
  5. On a Btrfs based system this is possible. Check out Unraid and it even supports the ZFS plugin. If the ZFS system supported the Btrfs plugin, it would be possible. In that case, I would be prompted to choose between ZFS and Btrfs when creating the pool. That would be a breakthrough solution.
  6. For now, I will stay with the system that has everything I need. It offers RAID, docker, VM, disk hibernation, UPS support... I don't even need more. I will patiently wait for Hex to develop.
  7. First of all, it will serve as a media server. Jellyfin and immich will be installed along with tailscale and that's it for now. I am now using a btrfs based system which supports disk hibernation. If I wanted to set the same thing on Hex where I have, for example, 6 disks, they all have to rotate and consume more energy than the system I'm using now.
  8. Hello, is Hex only suitable as a media server? I heard that ZFS is not energy efficient and disks cannot go into sleep mode, so all disks are always spinning, which is not efficient when I only want a media server. Is that so?
  9. I don't see the option to create a torrent via Transmission. I want to seed my media from the server.
  10. Sorry, I said it wrong. I know how torrent works and how to set up a tracker. I downloaded Transmission torrent to my server but I don't know how to share my media via torrent. I can create a torrent via PC, but I can't do it via the server.
  11. Hexos is not complete. A beginner simply creates a pool and nothing more. Everything else is possible through truenas, but with complicated settings. Jellyfin needs to set the dataset to the movies folder. Immich also doesn't work 100%. Beginners, use another OS because Hex is just a dream for now. Try to come back in a few months.
  12. I want to send files from NAS to torrent servers. Through which application can I do this?
  13. I imagine Hex aimed at beginners where you have to hold their hand every step of the way.
  14. Please note that many customers are not familiar with TrueNas and do not know how ZFS works. An inexperienced user does not know the terms pool, vdev and does not understand the principle of operation of z1, z2, z3... Therefore, when creating pools, it would be advisable to go through the wizard, where it will ask me whether I want to create a pool focused on performance without data protection or focused on data protection, where the performance will be lower.
  15. We want a NAS system built from TrueNas. File manager support directly through the GUI. This means that we would be able to move and upload files through a graphical interface through a browser. Folders in Hex only have the smb function and cannot be directly opened and handled with the contents.

  17. So far, the policy has not changed. Posts still cannot be edited or deleted after a time period of approximately 5 minutes. This time limit should be removed.
  18. I use the Macrium Reflect software, which creates a complete backup of the entire drive with all partitions.
  19. I like UGREEN because it is simple and has everything for an ordinary user. Most of us just want a media server and host a few other applications or run a VM and have RAID support. It has a nice and clear mobile application for remote access to UGREEN. Before you install TrueNAS (HexOS), I recommend creating a clone of the UGOS system or installing it on another disk because UGREEN does not have an iso system but only an img, which is only firmware. So, to return to the UGOS system, you need to contact support, where they will provide you with the iso system based on the serial number, but it's a lengthy process, so make a backup and then you can start testing.
  20. I didn't notice the fan control app in the TrueNAS store. It is essential to keep the system cool. I mean, I saw the setting through the shell, but in Hex we want everything simple.
  21. I know that TrueNAS supports disk hibernation. It would be useful to see in HexOS which disks are hibernating and how much power the system is consuming.
  22. When I add another friend's account to the system, I want to be able to set what he can access and what he can't. For example, movies will be shared, but I don't want him to get access to private photos or things of my family. I want to specifically set access to certain folders and applications that I select. I created a trial account for a friend and when I logged in with his details I had access to everything. It would be great to be able to set what apps the dear users can use and what folders they can access.
  23. Hi, will deck.hexos also be available in version 1.0? I know you want to go through local UX but deck.hexos seems like the right solution for remote server management. Add automatic port allocation across the deck.hexos to access specific applications. VPNs are vulnerable and cloud access is a good option if your cloud doesn't die.
  24. So if I use 2 x nvme when installing Hex and mark both, the system automatically creates a backup of the boot drive? And if my boot unit dies, can I restore it from the second nvme? That would be great news.
  25. That's not what I meant. I heard that Raidz1 can also be created with 2 disks. It would be better if I want to add more disks later.
