For anyone that has the issue if you can log into true nas you can actually change the version is boots from without having to hook up a monitor etc. in Truenas go to System then boot the you can click on a little checkmark on the right side of the version you want to use that says activate when you hover over it. After that you can restart the system from the little power icon on the top right corner of Truenas and it will boot in whatever version you selected.

I have this issue as well, only way to access through the hex os dashboard is by rebooting from the old update
