Currently i have a windows pc running as my server. As you can imagine its not great. However it lets me to a few things. I understand how to install and run apps on it and how to access it remotely. I also currently have a lot of data stored on it as it is my NAS.
Question 1. Do i need to install new blank drives to create a storage pool and then i can transfer the data from my windows driver? Then i can wipe those drives and add them to the storage pool? Will Hex os see those windows drives and allow me to copy the data to the new drive pool? This is my biggest concern.
Questions 2. I currently use this machine a my Blue iris NVR for my cameras. It seems it possible to run BI on a windows VM on true nas so it seems i will be able to do that with hex os as well accessing the Truenas settings. If i do that it seems i may be CPU bottlenecked. The cpu is an i3 7100 so its not particularly powerful. So i am worried about performance of have the nas run and 9 cameras 8 of which that are recorded 24/7 albeit at lower res. And then i use BI AI software for video detection as well. I do have an i7 7700k and an extra gtx 1080 gpu that i could use for this machine just means getting a proper case for it. But i feel like the Power efficiency will be significantly lower. My main pc is a 7800x3d and rtx3080 that i could use as BI server, but also worried about power efficiency have that on 24/7 as well as the HE os machine.
