  1. Story time! I had two 10TB drives from Amazon Renewed fail because... I plugged a 21v power supply into them as a dyslexic dumbarse. I reached out to refurbisher email included and asked if I could pay to have them repaired or traded in, since I was able to confirm it was just the control boards. They informed me that "unfortunately, we do not have a program for paid repair, but we can replace them at no cost if you mail them in. Sorry for the inconvenience." After making sure they understood it was totally my fault, I happily took their offer and received two replacement drives in the mail. They even paid shipping both ways. Best part: They sent me two 12TB drives that cost about $25 more than the 10TB ones I got! Very nice of them! But here's the issue, I now have two 10TB drives and two 12TB drives... Not enough for an expandable raid5 pool on either drive type! Hexos doesnt let me use them together and ignore the 2tb of wasted space, so Ill have to buy another drive, lol. Ah well. Kind of a good problem to have, but wasnt expecting to spend more. No complaints against Hexos honestly, just wanted to share this 😆
  2. fli.so is a polished and easy to selfhost link shortener. I'd love for it to be added as an app someday. Probably not a beta one. It also generates QR codes and offers tracking. Lots of good stuff. https://fli.so/?ref=selfh.st
  3. Paperless-ngx is a great one, yeah. Docspell is another option with better user support, more features, but doesnt support file versioning. I think both are equally valuable, and a big reason I think this is a big fit for hexos, is how powerful these applications are for the average user. theyre both pretty simple and polished after setup.
  4. Would love something like a "portainer" app to easily install portainer and docker with containers volumes being stored on the NAS. Honorable mentions: - nextcloud - nginx proxy manager - zabbix - sonarr / radarr / the other "arr" softwares - mqtt relay - uptime kuma - paperless-ngx - actually Im gonna make another post for that one.... that's a big one most people should have imho.
  5. Nextcloud is a big one yeah.
  6. Scheduled power on would be difficult, as that's typically a bios function, but scheduled power off should be trivial. That said, might be possible to utilize a sleep like mode
  7. Zabbix is a really cool and powerful monitoring system. However, setting up and upgrading servers is a total pain, with separate databases to manage and all that. Having Zabbix Server as an app would be neat!
  8. Higher on the list for me would be usenet clients, since it's so much easier and secure compared to torrents.
  9. Nextcloud is the top of the list for me, followed closely by plex, sonarr, and radarr.
