  1. I was looking forward to seeing a 3D-printed external 4-bay HDD mount attached to the outside. :P
  2. What an entertaining read. Each post is full of ups and downs, drama and humor. Best of luck on your next adventure as it looks like you are diving into apps. Since you are sticking to the HexOS interface, you will only see Plex and Immich. Which one are you doing first?
  3. I still don't have my NextCloud working right. I think some of it comes from not having used Docker before. On a previous Ubuntu Server setup, I felt like I got NextCloud working pretty quickly. This one has been stumping me. I have also tackled the TrueNas community, but that has not been helpful. Top rated comments are "Use TrueNas Scale and follow instructions". But none of the instructions line up! I gave up after weeks turned to months of looking at it in my limited free time. Waiting until someone with more experience can write up a more exhaustive walkthrough that matches more of the build. I have learned more about some things since getting HexOS, such as Tailscale, which has been amazing to learn and figure out. Connecting Next on my docket to learn is NGINX. I'm glad I can learn some of these new skills, but it comes at a price of time. They weren't in my pocket beforehand, but getting them all to work happily together has been a beast. As soon as they launch 1.0, this is my ranking of apps to install on a fresh build. 1. Plex (just because I have the eternal license) 2. Immich (loving it lots) 3. Tailscale 4. NGINX (once I figure it out)—unless someone can give me a better idea of how to share Immich photo albums with family using proxies while also being safe online. 5. NextCloud (please be 1-click launch) Suffice it to say that networking is not my forte, nor is TrueNas. But I now know more about it than I did before HexOS came out.
  4. At the moment, I wish I had played more with TruNAS. I am finding that as I explore, I am staying in the Admin panel a lot more. To give credit for the team, I am waiting to see what their next release is for HexOS. I will probably spin up another computer and play with TruNAS before going all in on my primary PC with HexOS. I am waiting to fully convert all my data over until there is a definitive 1.0 release.
  5. That can't be true? That sounds like such a technical oversight. How do they prevent it from happening in the future?
  6. Love the blue.
  7. That looks sick! Love the livery on the side and the wheels.
  8. Have you always been a Z fan? Do you have a favorite?
  9. I don't have anything exciting currently. Sporting a 2001 Toyota RAV4 with 262k miles on the whole car. Gets the job done to and fro. My favorite car has been my 2006 Scion xB. Boy do I miss it. Switched to my wife's rav because the property tax on it is $4. :) She gets the better vehicle. This winter I will be helping my FiL with his 2001 Mazda Miata. Doing a radiator swap, struts, sway bar links, and a couple of other maintenance items, but putting some performance parts on it.
  10. Thank you for the information. Came here to look just for this.
