  1. We are releasing a minor update today. Here are the main changes: Improved Setup Wizard Functionality: Enhancements in detecting system details during setup, with additional warnings and error messaging to help identify potential problems. Existing Data: The software now detects existing drive partitions during setup. If any exist, they will be flagged for your attention. Minor UI Improvements: A number of small user interface issues have been resolved to provide a smoother experience (eg. when scrolling through long content on larger displays, the detail panel will remain fixed and visible) You will receive these updates automatically on your next visit to the Command Deck. For those actively connected, there may be a brief moment of downtime to ensure everything is working correctly.

  3. That's on me. I've been highly distracted this past month with a lot of administrative work. That's starting to wrap up and I will be dumping a lot more of my time into communications.

  8. btw: "If I understand correctly, you can't install HexOS on the array itself, so for that we'd opt omitting the wifi card in favour of a 2230 NVMe SSD. " --> this is correct

  9. Hi Antares, You can definitely run HexOS on the MS-01. Personally, I don't think the MS-01 is the ideal NAS device. You can indeed add extra SSDs via PCIe to M.2, but cooling will become a challenge. The MS-01 is widely used as a server in many homelabs. I have one myself—it's truly a brilliant device! Minisforum did develop a prototype expansion card with four SSDs, but it was never released due to heat issues. The great thing about the MS-01 is that it packs a lot of performance into a small case—actually too much for a NAS. At the same time, it has just too few expansion options for storage to be an ideal NAS solution. But don't get me wrong—you can definitely run HexOS on an MS-01. With the setup you’re proposing, you’ll be good to go!

  10. Thanks for the update. I will say, I am selfishly hoping to hear some bigger change updates in the near future

  11. @Dylan, the WTR pro specs looks promissing (still rumors) 🙂. 6 HDD bays, 6 nvme, 10 gbe and 2,5 gbe network and an AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU. I have seen on the AOOSTAR facebook page that they expect the release in Q1 2025. I am afraid that I also will spend some extra money on hardware this year.

  13. Yes, as it worked on a few rando files and I'll def try the direct connect and see what happens. DM me an ARR's link to de-mystify this sorcery, please and thank you!!

  14. Is the download location using a mapped drive? I. E. It had a drive letter etc. Or is it using \\servername\directory etc?

  15. I really hate to be that one guy... but I feel as though I have to. We are nearly a month since this post hit the forum, and from what I can tell it was the last real official communication from the team. Even most of this communication came from mods rather than the dev team as well. I've been trying to check back in at least once a week to see if we've gotten even a 'Hey everyone! We're still alive and kicking here. Should have more to say *blah blah blah*'. I'm sadly disappointed that an effort to even give a brief state of dev update hasn't been made. As a developer myself I know how these things go a lot of times. However, unless there is just a total breakdown somewhere - a month between communication is just not good leadership. Even if you're not following an agile cycle where multiple sprints should have been completed by now; something to engage the community must have happened in less than a month you could have info dumped on us. You need to adopt some sort of schedule here to say something official every week or two. Even if all you have to say is that you have nothing new to say. I've waited on engineering teams to tackle issues in platform environments for upwards of 9 months with certain projects, but the only reason we waited that long rather than finding a new partner to work with was because they kept the lines of communication open. Taking five minutes every week or two and writing a brief paragraph really isn't too much to ask. Especially when people have been here supporting and cheering on your project (as well as funding.. I got multiple licenses when I wasn't even sure I'd find a use for more than 1). Please get some sort of dev outreach going fast. The further down the road you get the less you'll have to constantly communicate.. but NOW is the time that you should be extra present and informative. The mods are great, but they don't embody this project. You guys do. Right now it feels rather unsupported. Thanks!

  16. Integrated default reverse proxy for docker apps so all apps available on 443 inside home network. integrated DNS to support app name.internaldomain.com with reverse proxy (this puts all apps on 443) Lets encrypt SSL by default for all apps all user has to do is buy domain name and enter it above and all just works support for split horizon DNS consider running the DNS service for folks to allow tight integration (this shouldn't preclude use of other dns services) this is not me advocating for how to expose anything externally, that's not an argument i want to get into 😉
