  2. Hi all I installed the new update for HexOS and truenas (Goldeye) yesterday. I could not reconnect to the server trough HexOS after the update. The server is still accesseble trough Truenas login. I did unclaim the server to reclaim it agian. Now it doenst show up at all. Does someone has the same issue or has a fix for it. Thanks in advance. Marc
  3. So my update to 25.10.1 - Goldeye was uneventful with no errors reported and all apps and VMs seeming to function perfectly. Great job guys! Now in the interface I see this alert for a few apps: If I click the update now button I then have this warning: I was wondering if this was the way to migrate from TrueNAS installed apps to curated ones? Is the process safe?
  4. Today
  5. after installing the update my 2 of 2 HDDs are both saying they've failed. Previously worked with 0 issue before the update, even yesterday they were working fine with new files uploaded.
  6. 245tb ssd, would be amazing. I'll take 2? I have a kidney....
  7. Super excited for this. I'm done with Apple iCloud, and remote storage out of my control so I'm looking forward to making my own server, however. Does HexOS have a way to communicate with a UPC? For example. Say I lost power and HexOS communicates with the ups and the ups says "hey! We lost power, you got 20 minutes before your dead!" So the server shuts down after it finished whatever it's finished. But they starts back up when power returns it boots back up? Or is this. BIOS setting? (I don't think it's a bios setting) -- Orion
  8. Thanks very much this comment just helped me fix immich after my update saved me a lot of poking around.
  9. Yesterday
  10. Awesome! I have a Intel iGPU with Jellyfin. How do I know if transcoding is taking advantage of my iGPU now?
  11. Nevermind, It started working again. I'm not what specific thing I did resolve it or if it resolved on it own. I've rebooted it several times through the UI. I've turned off all running apps.
  12. Hello, I recently upgraded to 25.10.1 through the HexOS Ui but something has gone wrong and I can't access it any more through the commanded deck. It currently list's the server as offline but I can still connect to the TrueNAS local network UI without issue. I'm not sure fix this with out a OS reinstall. I've checked DNS settings, and the TrueNAS can ping google from its command line. I've made no changes to my home network and the NAS was access before the update. I'm not sure where to look for HexOS Errors in TrueNAS. Any help would be greatly appropriated.
  13. Hi, very nice update, here are some points of feedback: On the Immich app, it showed the button "An updated configuration is available for this app", which I clicked. Afterwards, my Immich instance wouldn't start up again. I looked into it on the truenas interface where the server container wouldn't start but instead display long error messages before crashing. I noticed that the data storage path was moved from "Host Path" to ixVolume. After I changed it back to the original path, everything worked again. If the switch to an ixVolume is intended, I'd like to have the option (in HexOS) to choose a host path instead, as I want to be able to access my photos via the smb share from another pc. I guess, my trouble with the immich app could have been avoided, if the update notification in the HexOS interface showed the changes clearly, instead of the generic "This will reset every change you made in TrueNAS" message that pops up right now. Also, I installed Nextcloud before it was curated on HexOS, so now I would be interested in migrating my installation to the curated version (without uninstalling and re-installing the app). I tried using the configuration update button, which (expectedly) did not do anything.
  14. sorry for the name change. Made new account because i forgot the password to this one. but found it. The drives are WD10spcx-24hwst0 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DCM91WQ?smid=A2LNMCKTCZIL8P&psc=1 I got the system on ebay and it had little info about just a link to this page - https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/servers/technical-support/poweredge-r760-spec-sheet.pdf
  15. Last week
  16. Oh nice thanks, yes that works.
  17. at the top of the hub, you can select the store tab and then orders or manage purchases. both should show you how many licenses you have
  18. Can you please also post more details on your HDDs? Those might be SMR drives which will likely cause a lot of (performance) issues in the future.
  19. What HBA / Raid / Perc card 8s in the server
  20. I have a Dell PowerEdge r730xd the OS starts but will not detect my drives. 4 - 1TB WD Blue HDDs What am I doing wrong. Ive initilized them and put on a base partition and nothing else. Ive tried NTFS and exFAT. Neither work.
  21. Where can one see the number of licenses on thier account? I just bought a second lics for $99 as I would like to setup an off-site backup down-the-road, once you have settled into a non-beta version. I have been playing a bit with my current setup, but haven't committed all my files over from my Synology NAS until you move to Prod/final version. (I guess that is in Q1 of 2026!!) I will be looking at setting up a very simple HexOS offsite box, just bare system with a few large HD's in it for backing up my more important data. I am just waiting till you have moved out of beta. Thanks for the sale and the cool interface!! Merry Christmas all!
  22. I've reposted this in the curated apps section, and this post can be removed. Sorry friends.
  23. HexOS Gets a Major Upgrade This release introduces an improved Apps experience, new apps, two-factor authentication support, improved GPU support, and Goldeye compatibility. Read more about it on our docsite here at Command Deck Update - December 26, 2025 Also check out our latest blog for even more details! NOTE: This update was applied automatically. You may need to clear your cache.
  24. Hey All, I'm receiving the following message attempting to install Immich and qBittorrnet: "Failed to install app. [EINVAL] pool_dataset_create.name: Parent dataset does not exist for specified name" Any advise or direction would be greatly appreciated! Funny enough, Jellyfin uses all of the same install locations and then some, and it installed fine?
  25. Hi, Currently i'm using my very old computer as homeserver. I have plex running on it including sonarr/radarr/prowlarr. Future use will also be home assistant. However ever since installing sabnzbd it keeps crashing. Probably because it's to resource intensive. This is my old build. Intel i5-3450 8BGB of ram 128GB sata SSD as Boot 5 16TB seagate Exos X18 I'm currently looking for a new build but don't exactly know what I should get. I have my eyes on a build I could buy for €1200(1400$) however don't know if it is worth it or maybe overkill. ASUS X99-Dual (Intel X99 chipset, dual-socket LGA2011-3) 2× Intel Xeon E5-2695 v4 (18 cores / 36 threads per CPU) Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Gaming OC 8GB 8× 32GB SK Hynix DDR4 ECC RDIMM 2400MHz I'm going to use the same boot and HDD's. Should I get the build or could I get something more worth the money. I'm willing to spend around the price I already mentioned. Thanks for the help.
  26. Hey, Backups are done over the local network or Internet (which requires additional setup) and are done using the existing network connection. Using an USB cable to connect to your server is not supported. What exactly do you want to backup from your devices? There are different ways and apps, depending on what you want to do. Backing up pictures from your phones (and Mac maybe?) you can use Immich, which is a one click install app in Hexos. For documents you could use something like paperless, which requires manual loading of the files and is more like a document manager, rather then a simple backup solution. And there are other solutions to backup every kind of data. For your family, not living in your house, to be able to backup to your server you need to either setup a VPN or Cloudflare Tunnel or similar. Hexos is using ZFS and in ZFS it's called RaidZ1 and not Raid5 🙂 Also please post your specs of your Server which you want to use, this way we can identify possible incompatibilities and issues beforehand and mitigate them.
  27. Also ... Data backup noob here! My goto experience on backups is having multiple HDDs, seperate and offline, and 1TB on OneDrive but not using the sync part... just drag and drop for an faux 3-2-1 best practice. So, is or will HexOS aim for that?
  28. Hi and happy hollidays. After learning Linus was invested on this software, and understanding how much it takes the load of spending time to make TrueNAS do what developers are doing by coding this software ... and that TrueNAS themselves are invested as well, I'm almost convinced and pressing the Buy button, which I'll do after a bit more research if some requirements are met: Combined I use Samsung S23 Ultra (android), a Gaming PC (win11), a work laptop (w11) and an iPad Pro (iPadOS). My gf an iPhone 15 and a Macbook M1. So, I'm interested in backing up (incremental backup, mind you) all those devices by plugin in a cable and little more operation, but also, having my parents, siblings and nephews to remote backup onto an old PC I retired and is gaining dust in the attic, and I'm considering making a RAID 5 NAS for starters. Is the "backing up devices by pluging-in a cable" a thing in HexOS, or any NAS system for that matter? (my ignorance says it can't be that difficult if DEVICES are once validated and while nothing changes like a Factory Reset) Maybe for whom need so, having a 2FA app for "unlocking" the NAS server to allow backing up the connected device? That's my main concern / interest on having an Incremental Backup solution that is painless and not Hardcore Secure when it comes to input data to backup. Cheers from Portugal, and from what I've searched on the forum, this question wasn't yet put in this terms. Thanks in advance and happy holidays!
