This would be useful if you want to host an app on your home network but do not have a static IP from your ISP.

Since I would strongly discourage making your HexOS NAS directly accessible to the internet, I do not see a reason for supporting something like this.

I imagine they will instead put more time into P2P VPNs like Tailscale and Wireguard.

 

If you do wish to use DuckDNS, you can easily do so through the TrueNAS GUI. The target audience for HexOS will likely not need a DuckDNS integration.
