Would one license cover a backup only site? (no buddy)

I have no idea what my situation will be in a or so when I fully implementing this, but I currently don't have a backup buddy. However, I would like to be able to setup a device at an off-site location (like my parents) simply to use as a backup. Would a single license cover this?

I'm guessing the current answer is no and this just is not a use case they are currently targeting. No worries either way, I just wanted to confirm.

Hi @zachavm

License requirements are based on the number of servers you have hexos installed on. In the use case you are considering you would need two servers, each with a copy of HexOS, so you would need to have two licenses.

Would that mean for instance, if i ran up a hex OS VM for the purpose of checking it out before i get my hands on spare hardware, that i wont be able to spin it up on said hardware, because i'll have used up the license? or is it a "checked online" kinda situation?

There is a “disconnect this server” button which will open up that license to be used on another server. I currently have Hex OS on a VM and am planning a full migration once I feel it’s ready.

Thanks for settling my worries. I had almost entirely forgot about this program after buying it. Then remembered my worry, found your reply, and now feel confident moving forward.
