Sir Charles the Orange Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) Ever since I built my first PC a few years ago, I've been itching to get into the home server space. I have an old HP Pavilion a6010n that I'm hoping to use as my first server build. 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4300 Chipset: Intel 945G Memory: 512 MB (x2) DDR2 Storage: 320 GB 7200 rpm SATA 250 watt power supply I know just enough to do some damage. Are there any glaring concerns here that a newbie like me doesn't see? Obviously need to add some more drives, I'm assuming a power supply upgrade is in order? Almeda Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 8GB RAM is the minimum requirement and the maximum you can put in that is 4GB 1 Quote
