15Cyndaquil Posted Friday at 03:12 PM Posted Friday at 03:12 PM I’m curious if we’ll be able to transfer licenses between accounts if they’re not in use? I’m looking into using this software’s backup buddies feature in the full release to off site back up some files and want to split the cost between friends who are on the fence about utilizing HexOS specifically. If they’d like to use it for their primary software I’d like to be able to transfer the license to their account in the future and if not I’d be able to set up a second machine with the second license under my account where ever is convenient for me Quote
Midnight2ss Posted Friday at 04:01 PM Posted Friday at 04:01 PM I would imagine that each of you could have separate accounts and use the buddy system. "Buddy" suggests individual, so it should be more secure. Each of you could have separate accounts, as I doubt it would be very secure to allow full access to someone else's server. as it would under 1 account. but could be wrong. i assume. you would have an account with a license for your local/personal server. and your friend would have his own account with license for their server. likely there will be an option to share/setup buddy backup using like emails/account. with access only to backup/replication settings. like maybe what files to backup and schedule, and such. this is just a assumption Quote

Best case scenario is I would purchase the licenses and let them mess around with it to determine if they’d like to use this or not and if they do I can transfer the license to their account and they can pay me back worst case I’d still have a second license I could use for a second server elsewhere for off site backups Quote
Midnight2ss Posted Friday at 05:25 PM Posted Friday at 05:25 PM possibly but its likely like other licenses and is tied to the account, but not sure. but i definitely see it being each has your own account to manage and keep personal documents personal. as there will i believe the ability to access files/manage HexOS from anywhere using the deck.hexos.com website. but will have to wait for a response by the team or find out ourselves once its launched/able to be tested Quote
15Cyndaquil Posted Monday at 07:36 AM Author Posted Monday at 07:36 AM Found my answer here actually https://hexos.com/terms No User Transfers HexOS licenses are non-transferable and are only authorized for use by the original purchaser. If you are an OEM vendor, please contact us at support@hexos.com for OEM program details. Quote
