rasmraz Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Since LTT recently made a video about HexOS promoting its software, does HexOS run on the FriendlyELEC CM3588 NAS Kit, which LTT reviewed 8 months ago? Quote
theking8713 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 oh... interesting, i totaly forgot i have this itx board from radxa that is a super overkill SBC lolz, hmm... ARM HexOS nas? now that might be the usecase iv been wating for on this board... BUT i do want to preface that by saying its not a priority at least not for me considering how long weve waited on that radxa product just to get a funcional kernel no thanks to the original developers but instead to due to community devs like Heiko Stuebner and thats just to get a few pcie fetures working on a mainline debian install let alone one that would work for a brand new unknown nas os based on a niche enterprise distrobution lol... no lets afford them some leaway and have them put maximum effort into assuring x86 works as intended first... ya? Almeda Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 The answer is No, it will not run HexOS as ARM CPUs are not supported, only x86. Quote
jjoshlin Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 hopefully in the future truenas will dev support for ARM with the growing server community of gear that will be hitting the grey market on the refresh cycles soon. I have this device also, and found the loaded OS to be lacking. trying to setup ZFS has not been a pleasant experience. Quote
