Agreed! Just spend the day trying to get my UnRaid server up and running again because all my docker containers decided to disappear. The unifi app is one I have to have in order to fully migrate and I'm ready after today lol.

So I was hosting it in docker on Unraid then then DietPI on raspberry pi. finally i wanted something that was setting on my default Vlan. So I ordered a Dell Optiplex  Min PC for 50 buck with power supply and 8gb memory and 4 core 4 thread no HD on ebay. I installed Debian and then went to this address and followed the docs to install Unifi Server on it. It is plugged into my unifi router and has been up for 6 months. I am more then happy with that.  Here is the link to the install instruction. NOTE if you run Proxmox you could also put this in a container.

Any of you played around with unifi protect backup and gotten it to work to back up to your nas?

I did the default setup through the Truenas UI and its working perfectly for me. Am I missing something?

Where are you backing up to and if it's on your NAS what is your rclone remote setting? I can't get to back up to anywhere, but the container it's in. Any rclone remote I throw at it either doesn't work or a get an access denied when it tries to move the files where I want it to go.

Log into the Ubiquiti UI and download your config from there. I recommend only previous 7 days at most as it takes forever to restore if its more than that. Some folks just do settings only which is way faster. It brings up a download window and you put it where you want. After installation of the app, connect to the ip and follow the restore steps via browser.

I think we are talking about two very different things. I am talking about the container unifi-protect-backup that you can find in the Discover Apps section in TrueNAS.
