Yannick Gilbert Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 First I am new to all this so pardon me if I do sound like a newb. I have the license and was planning on installing it on spare hardware I have on hand to test it out. Will a swap of the drives with the install of HexOS later down the road to a completely new set of hardware be detected as a new server? Will there be an easy transfer of the license to that new server? and will HexOS be able to detect and update and port any hardware changes to the existing install or will it require a fresh install ? arvinpw Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 the license is tied to your account, any changes to your hardware will not impact your license. just shutdown the old server, and from the deck HexOS UI, there will be a Disconnect button as that server offline. after that, just install the new server and adopt the HexOS again Quote
Yannick Gilbert Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 thanks. with this i assume that the server configurations that are already on the drive running the HexOS will still all be there? Quote

No if you replace the boot drive and pool drives. It will retain you configuration if you just change the hardware (CPU, RAM, mainboard). 1 Quote
